Our room was comfortable, very clean and quiet. Both my husband and I had a good night's sleep. The mini fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee machine were all that we would have expected and more. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to make myself a tasty hotel room cup of coffee. We each picked up a cookie on our way up to the room at the end of our evening out and they were delicious and a nice touch. Overall I was impressed and pleased with our stay.

Bed was kind of hard but it was very clean! We didn't have enough toilet paper

Nice lobby pretty it smelled good nice area and it was clean. Easy access off highway. The bed was a lot harder then I am use to. Liked having a refrigerator and coffee maker. Ran out of TP and we were only there one night.

The Most Horrible Beds We've Ever Encountered In A Hotel

DKLIon 20/06/2017 05:46

My husband, myself and one of our friends checked into the Hilton Garden Inn Danbury on Friday, June 16th for a weekend of antiquing. Check-in was quick and painless, even received late check out on Sunday.
Going up to our rooms, we did the usual bed and room check for insects, all was clear. The bathroom was fine (no fan to clear steam BTW), clean towels and a nice set of toiletries. The room was a little small but we just needed a nice room to sleep and relax after a day out. Noticed that only decaf coffee was on the tray, no biggie but seemed like housekeeping just left whatever previous guests didn't drink. I was able to get extra regular coffees at the desk and at times during the day, coffee and cookies were available.

We did notice over the course of the weekend that the temperature control was difficult to regulate. It was either hot or cold in the room. No extra blankets in the closet. Rooms had a damp, mildewy feel and smell. The television channels weren't working correctly, most were so digitized they were unwatchable. A few channels came in and we had no choice but to watch what channels worked. No channel guide in the room.

We could have lived with the above issues if it wasn't for the WORST beds we have ever encountered in a hotel. This chain has some weird, non electric "adjustable" bed with what appears to be a non-functioning dial on each side. Both my husband, our friend and I were never able to adjust these strange beds and spent two nights in extreme pain. These beds are HARD! We are still in pain, a day after our return home. We met other guests who complained as well, one we spoke with had their 80-something parent with them who was never able to sleep on that contraption, even trying to sleep on the chair in the room to get off that horrible bed. We tossed and turned for two solid nights, never able to sleep comfortably. We were exhausted. Who in their right mind thought these things worked? In reading other reviews, it seems they've had these beds in their hotels for years. Maybe they have worn out, maybe they never worked and has been a scam played on both the HIlton chain and us poor, unsuspecting guests. Don't be fooled into thinking these are Sleep Number Beds, they are not. The beds are ROCK HARD and will stay ROCK HARD no matter where you put that dial.

At check out, we expressed our experience with the beds and the person at the desk acted like we were the first guests to bring this to their attention. Really? Do they read TripAdvisor reviews?

Anyway, we decided we would never stay in this hotel ever again and knowing these beds are in all hotels, will never stay in any hotel that has them. Too bad because the hotel was nice.

BTW, no breakfast with the room unless you pay for it and the breakfast is your standard buffet fare. Not worth the $11.95 price tag. This is a Hilton Garden Inn, not THE Hilton. $11.00 drinks also not worth it unless you're on an expense account. Go to the liquor store down the road and pick up a pizza while over there (or the Trader Joe's).

If the Hilton Garden Inn cares about repeat guests, get rid of those beds. Really.

Not a helpful front desk

Nice place, not a concerned staff. They placed us across the hall from the pool which was full of kids and very loud until 11pm each night. When I asked for another room I was told they couldn't accommodate me. So much for the perks of being a Hilton Honors member. I would rather have a quiet room when requested than a free bottle of water.

NOT THE BEST HILTON IVE STAYED AT

karenwO6153LZon 14/06/2017 14:47

rooms were very clean but the staff was not very helpful in making any changes to an existing reservations even though there were other rooms available and they were not sold out, Huge language barrier with housekeeping and coffee creamers in my room had been expired for months. the pool was very very small. I have stayed at many different Hiltons before but this one was my least favorite.
