What People are saying

Amazing seafront location and value for money

roberto_dalmassoon 13/08/2017 04:11

the hotel is nicely seafront located and at walking distance from Brighton most lively districts and the Pier area.
Clean rooms, friendly staff service and a breakfast above the average completed my very positive experience here.

You get what you'd expect

Stayed here for one night in conjunction with a work event in Brighton.

We started off with the use of a Conference Room.

The exterior could do with a touch of updating but the interior is modern and reasonably well appointed.

Bedroom adequate with usual facilities was clean and with a nice ensuite shower room.

A sea view would have been nice but probably they're for those on upgraded packages.

Buffet breakfast was available within the adjoining cafe/bar/restaurant.

Not necessarily somewhere I'd usually choose but it served a purpose.

Convenient for just about everything - and on the seafront!

Would have loved a sea view, and if I craned my neck over heating ducts outside my window I could just about get a glimpse. But it didn't detract from my stay. Basically looking for somewhere to stay to explore for a couple of days - and for this it was perfect. Clean, bright welcoming reception area and lovely check in staff. The room was adequate - you do know what you are getting. Little bit tatty - maybe on an upgrade? I find showering in the bath really difficult and after one slip and tumble, didn't use it again. Breakfast was fine, although clearing staff a bit too keen and every time I got up - what I already had on my table, for example my cup of tea, had been cleared when I got back with my toast! Biggest grumble was the mess in the bar area, lad behind the bar looked scruffy, half in, half out shirt and spent most of his time texting on his phone - not clearing up the area at all.

Very Very Dissapointed

Booked here through Expedia, who offered 2 king size beds. On checking in the chap took my details handed me key card and directed me to the lift. No nice welcome, no explaining the facilities like where to go for breakfast or how to access the internet.
We entered the room to find two single beds pushed together. (Not what we were expecting so immediately disappointed). Tried to call reception for 45 minutes with a constant engaged tone, so made my way down to reception, I explained this was not what I was expecting, but nothing they could or wanted to do as I should have booked direct then I would have seen they don't offer 2 king size beds!. Perhaps as a hotel you should check the listings on sites who are selling your rooms for you to ensure correct representation. When getting back to the room we had trouble with internet so again needed reception, again phone engaged for another 30 minutes, so I dialled the hotel from my mobile and reception answered immediately, am I to assume something wrong with the phone or they just choose to not answer calls from rooms!!. (Turns out you have to pick option two on the wifi log in, so why have a chargeable option 1 shown, when option 2 is free !!)
Any way we went out for the evening and when getting back the room the door key wouldn't work so back to reception, New key cards issued and when getting in the room the air con wouldn't go to below 19 degrees and the room was far too hot, luckily a fan in the wardrobe. Opening the window wasn't an option due to the street noise and it was secured so it wouldn't open more than a few inches (One handle broken). I haven't mentioned the view yet, with the hotel on the beach front I had a slight hope of a sea view, no such luck, the worst ever view looking directly into other peoples apartments, our window was directly by some sort of steps, gantry railings as well so had to keep the curtains closed as people I'm sure could see us. The only good thing to say about this hotel was breakfast was good if you could dodge the staff constantly getting in the way to replenish the food. There was a very nice lady who booked us in to eat she was very lovely, the happiest member of staff I saw. I will not be staying here again it was a hassle and far too pricey at £109.00 for that type of room and service.

Value for money

While the hotel doesn`t look appealing from the outside, it has a nice, modern interior. We had a room with double bed and with a sofa bed and still left with space in the room which is always a bonus :)
The bathroom however was small but really nice however, newly refurbished.
The let down side of the room was the dirty windows which spoilt the view on the seaside and lack of fridge in the room. (is it a new trend in hotels these days??)
The staff was friendly and helpful and sorted our request out quick. Thank you!!!

Will be happy to return here next time we`ll be spending a weekend in Brighton :)
