Nice hotel near Citi Field

Our family stayed here the night before an early departure out of Laguardia the next morning. The hotel is within walking distance from Citi Field and only a couple of miles from the airport. Our stay was very comfortable. The hotel was clean and actually very nice. The only drawback was the train running right next to the hotel. Surprisingly though, the rooms were a lot more quiet than we expected despite the train.

We stayed here our first night of this New York trip. We had stayed here by chance about 3 years ago and were treated so well given our travel issues that I wanted to stay here under less hectic circumstances. We arrived at LaGuardia about 8 pm and called the shuttle once we reached the baggage claim area. The shuttle came very quickly unlike when we were leaving a few days later and waited for almost an hour for the Hampton Inn shuttle! We arrived to a very friendly, welcoming Allison at check-in on a Wednesday evening. I was given a choice of points or drinks, but Allison ended up giving me both because of my Spire status or just because we came back-not sure which or my key issues perhaps? Our room was on the top floor. One of the few issues was that the keys wouldn't register in the elevator but were required to reach the rooms. It took another visit to the front desk to get our keys fixed and then it was still tricky to get in the room. There was a "smell" to the whole hotel, which reminded me of Vegas where they try to cover up smoky smells. This hotel is totally non-smoking now, but who knows how many smokers have stayed here in the past? The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept on in years plus the pillows were the perfect firmness. There was a tub, but I only got to take a shower. Everything was clean and quiet. There was a safe, but we had to call the maintenance guy to unlock it since the previous guest had left in locked. Great Holiday Inn amenities-much better than Hampton Inn again. We had a rate that included breakfast for 2 for $9 extra. We both got a full choice off the menu plus a drink. I had an egg white omelet with toast and potatoes plus coffee. My other half had pancakes and eggs plus turkey sausage and coffee. We used our drink coupons for a trip to the bar soon after we arrived. The bar was a hopping place with lots of interesting, friendly people. We both had a second round, and a gin and tonic plus a glass of wine was $15 with tip-not bad for New York. The shuttle back to the airport was an interesting adventure with some weird lady who supposedly takes the shuttle everyday about 3 blocks to the subway and makes a big production about everything-I am surprised they allow her to do this! In conclusion, this is my first choice near LaGuardia. We only stayed at the Hampton Inn at the end of the trip because my other half was starting a business trip and was meeting co-workers who were arriving the next day before they headed to New Jersey for a few days; I am flying home but wish we had stayed at the Holiday Inn again. Next time, we know.

Great Location To See A Mets Baseball Game

I come to NYC a fair amount of business and decided to attend a Mets baseball game.

The hotel is about .7 miles from the stadium-you can see the stadium from your hotel.

Rita who was the front desk assistant is awesome-she allowed me to check in early at 10:00.

The hotel has a restaurant and a small bar. They specialize in Italian food which was very good!

I noticed a lot of flight crews were staying there as well.

I will be back!

This hotel got everything you need for à short or long stay
I Like to stay here because first the staff
The food of course is way far from anything you got in the area
I ve been comming here for the past 15 years and they keep inprooving on and on
This worth a lot and so far if your in the area try to book here .....call in advence

The hotel has some age and the rooms are nothing spectacular. They do have reliable airport transportation and the staff is wonderful. There is a Action car rental office located in the hotel. The restaurant and bar is pleasant and the lunch was pretty good. Great location to Citi Field. Good for an over night stop or if you want to catch the metropolitan game.
