Family road trip

The hotel was below average and is over priced. It should be cheaper than what it was a night. Breakfast was fine but our rooms were NOT properly cleaned. There was trash and belongings left from other people who stayed there. And the bed spread had something on them so that shows that they weren't washed properly. The bath tub had a bad clog and and filled with water and took forever to get out and the bathroom door was kind of hard to close and doesn't lock. I got a spider bite so they need to handle that problem. I would recommend a different hotel.

Excellent Customer Service!!! - Property needs updating, badly!

Fambroughon 06/07/2017 19:20

Ms. Tempy, room service, was most attentive and proactive in providing me the amenities I needed before I asked.

Ms. America, front desk, went above and beyond the norm to make my stay stellar.

Unfortunately, the property hasn't been updated in over 50 years and the wear and tear were quite evident. After updating, 5 stars will be the correct rating.

My picture is worth a thousand reviews

In the interest of full disclosure I was moved to this hotel as someone screwed up big time in Louisville so I came here with a bit of attitude. HOWEVER my experience here was not good. The front desk people dealt with a large number of very cranky people with as much pose and grace as they possibly could. However that was the end of any semblance of a pleasant experience.

My first frustration came from odd design. The only way to get access to a stairwell was by going through the swimming pool area...that closed at 10:00. All other stairwells ended at a alarmed door on the ground floor. If you never take the stairs I guess this would not be a problem.

The room itself was dated and had a weird smell of age and stale cigarette smoke (in a non smoking room). The toilet and shower was stained and the curtains seamed to be moth eaten. As far as the bed I had an argument all night with my self as to what would have been more comfortable the bed or the floor. In the end the bed won out for the simple fact that it seamed to be cleaner then the floor.

That evening I was serenaded by the almost constant scream of sirens. The few times I went to the window the sirens belonged to police cars. I am not sure if the amount of police traffic was a reflection of neighborhood or if there was perhaps a substation nearby. That said however as an anecdotal side note a local business I visited with my rain jacket rolled up under my arm was far more concerned that I had a concealed weapon then was stealing something. The exact quote was "I don't care if you have a bottle of whiskey wrapped up in that, I just don't want to get shot."

Then the shock while going through the room making sure I had everything. I lifted the bed skirt to make sure nothing of mine had rolled under the bed was face to face with a giant stain, someone else's socks, and a used floss stick that was not mine. I was so shocked I had to take a picture. Again note, nothing under that bed was mine! That one picture seamed to encapsulate my entire experience quite succinctly.

Finally after slightly more then 15 hours total time checked in I went by the breakfast area to get something to eat. I was incredibly frustrated by the fact that the breakfast area did not open up until 7:00. This seamed like an odd decision for a hotel so close to an airport. I could have lived with it and not committed on it at all in this review if the breakfast attendant who was setting up at 6:45 had not rudely advised me of opening time. Not only was her attitude totally uncalled for there seamed to be either one of her realities or a hotel employee eating breakfast off the buffet behind her.

In the end I dropped my keys and left. With any luck I will never have to darken the doors of this establishment again. At the very least I will sleep in my car over another night at the Cottonwood Suites Louisville.

Great Customer Service

They allowed pets and they were affordable. However they had lost power and there were some glitches checking in. However, they assisted with all of our needs and even moved our room late when our lights didn't work.

basic

I was transferred here with my collegues from the Hampton by Hilton being this facility where I made the reservation, overbooked. The hotel rooms are basic not very welcoming but with all the necessary conveniences for one night stay. Very chaotic reception staff.
Breakfast poor.
