What People are saying

Quick stop in Sioux city

Katie Bon 13/08/2017 19:35

We chose this hotel based on the price, the restaurant was being renovated so it was closed. The hotel provided a continental breakfast, which was mediocre (they provided biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, had bread for toast and bagels). The pool was very warm, in fact it felt almost like a hot tub..which I thought was fantastic, but other guests in the area weren't a fan of the warmer water. The rooms were nice and look like they've been updated recently, with the exception of the bathtub and the floor tiles. The door to the room was very narrow and barely allowed for the luggage cart thru. Overall it wasn't a bad hotel.

Average

Stayed here a few nights while on business. No frills, clean, and quiet. Breakfast was average scrambled eggs, muffin, toast, yogurt, oatmeal, cold cereals, milk, oj, and coffee. Intoxicated transients surround rear perimeter looking for money and cigarettes. Pool area needs attention no fresh towels at 4pm. Old towels thrown in a pile. Overall averages out.

Hotel was okay, customer service is not

newenglander60on 10/07/2017 23:33

I stayed here for a big family reunion and reserved two rooms for three nights for my family of five. The hotel facility was fine -- the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the woman who set up and managed the breakfast each morning was really nice and very helpful. Those who had young kids used the pool, which was good sized and seemed clean and cared for.

My problems with this Holiday Inn have to do with the customer service. I reserved our two rooms several months in advance, but when I called the hotel a few days before our trip to check on my reservation, they only had one room reserved in my name and told me they were booked solid. So I had no room for my kids. After speaking to a manager, I was finally able to get a second room.

Then, after returning home from the trip, I checked my credit card bill and saw that I had been charged for three rooms instead of the two I actually used. I called the hotel and they said they had no record of my being charged for three rooms. They made a note to have a manager call me, but no one ever did.

It is now a month later. I have now called and emailed this Holiday Inn repeatedly, left messages for the manager to call me, emailed them a screenshot of my credit card bill with the incorrect charge, and no one has responded. I have also now called Holiday Inn International three times, to see if the corporate offices can help me. Each time, the representative had called the Holiday Inn in Sioux City and left a message for the manager to call me, but no one has. Meanwhile, the extra charge of $315 sits on my credit card.

Think twice before booking a room at this place.

One night stay

Got ready to check in no one at the desk. Had a problem with help someone did not show up waiting for a replacement. Not a problem got a room hospitality was very good. Went to use the pool in the hot tub hot tub not working. Room was clean. Dog barking outside our window all night long. Call the desk twice nothing happened. Went down to breakfast in the morning no milk for the cereal no orange juice just water and coffee Day old muffins really nothing good about breakfast. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Worst Experience at a Holiday Inn

buddbuddon 01/07/2017 14:50

I stopped here after 11 hours of travel to re-group and rest to continue my journey the next morning!
I should have know better when the young man checking me in had no idea what he was doing. He was very polite, but was unsure of the rates. I took his offer, and asked for nearby restaurants. He only knew of fast food places, so I had to google the area to find a choice suitable. The room was OK, but small for $ 144 including tax. It was not particularly clean, but OK. The kicker was when we left the next morning I asked where to find the "great hot breakfast" offered, and was told there was none. I was furious.
We were gone 9 more days and I refused to stop at a Holiday Inn again. Before this experience, it was always a Marriott property or HI.. I am not a complainer, but this has left a bad feeling for future travel.
