AVOID!!! DO NOT STAY!!
Jennifer Jon 10/06/2017 20:32The outside of the hotel looked very nice and my husband and I thought we had gotten lucky. This was a last minute overnight stay and for the price we were not expecting much...just a clean place to sleep. Upon entering the hotel, the carpets in the hallway looked like they had not been vacuumed in quite some time, but we continued on to our room. The first room we went in had a hole in the wall and no burners in the stove. The front desk did not seem fazed by this and said we will put you in another room. The second room had mismatched cushions on the couch, no dishes in the kitchen, no hand soap, shampoo etc., the couch had a giant glob of dried food on it and after awhile the other guests began to show up...the cockroaches!!! Every time we went to the bathroom there would be at least two cockroaches we had to kill!!! The air conditioner did not work correctly and at one point it smelled smoky. This could have been from a neighboring room as the marijuana smell was very strong! Stay away!
Will definitely go back!
ddledsomeon 24/05/2017 01:30We loved everything about this place. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. The room was a nice size and the bed was so comfortable, I usually always bring my own pillow because I'm very picky, unfortunately I forgot mine at home and was nervous but even the pillows were perfect. My favorite was the shower. Not your typical hotel shower, it was a large walk in!! Was very quite at night, didn't have any problems sleeping. When checking out A young man, Mark Olgrych, had asked how our stay was, told him how great it was. Asked where we were headed and if we needed any help with directions, that was so helpful! He printed out our directions for us. We will definitely come back to this one!! Thank you Mark and staff!
You Get What You Pay For
Nadina Pon 11/05/2017 13:26Driving up to this property, we were impressed! It looks very homey, like a group of attached condos, all clean and inviting. For the price we paid, we thought we really lucked up! That euphoria was brief though, because upon entering to register, we had to wait, though we were the only ones in the lobby. As we were early for check-in, we thought nothing of it, but it gave me time to view the dirty interior. "Oh, they simply must have had a busy evening and they're still in the process of cleaning". When we finally got our room and proceeded down the hall, it was obvious that no one had vacuumed it either. "Surely that will be done before evening", I though. NOPE, it never did. Our room did seem to be clean, although I replaced their bedspread that was tattered and blanket that holes and was passed worn with my own linens. I then checked out their kitchenette, that also looked impressive with its full refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher, only to realize that the refrigerator was warm, the cupboards were bare, did not even provide plastic spoons or styrofoam cups, NO paper products and no coffee pot (a must for me). After two visits to the front desk to request one, a pot was finally delivered only to discover that it was full of mold and mildew. So much for coffee in the morning.
Our adventure continued till four in the morning when we gave up and finally left. We tried to sleep through the conversations in the next room, the car noises from the parking lot of the adjacent restaurant (not the hotels fault), but could not adjust to the vibrating wall that shook the picture on the wall above our bed making sounds like a jackhammer on concrete. We concluded this was due to our close proximity to the elevator, but none-the-less detrimental to sleep. As I said "you get what you pay for".
First and last time
Herb Son 27/04/2017 14:52The Home Town Suites of Columbia is a $65 a night extended stay hotel. We did stay, but we probably won’t stay here again. As we checked in, 3 Columbia police cars pulled into the parking lot and started evicting people. Our room came equipped with a broken desk lamp, half a bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos, a set of mismatched sized sheets and a "60 grit" wash cloth (singular).
Kitchen equipped facilities without any dishes or cookware
Harold Won 24/04/2017 22:24The unit was spacious & clean! A kitchen without dishes, glasses, cutlery or any pots or pans. When I requested some I was told people steal them. We had booked in for four days expecting to be able to make our own breakfast and maybe a sandwich.
Three ight fixtures had no bulbs in them my request for some to install myself was met by the statement that maintenance would come to the unit to my knowledge they have not yet got around to it. Again I say the unit was clean & quiet but falsely advertised as an equipped suite. The price was reasonable it is a shame a good facility is so badly run
