Stayed at the honest lawyer many many times , location very good , bar & food lovely . To be honest , sometimes things can be a wee bit hit & miss but this time our stay was fab , room clean & nice & quiet , I'm sure we will be returning very soon , any small probs we have endured in the past is always sorted out by the lovely efficient staff.

Easy commute to Durham

Adequate hotel. No wow factor in the rooms. Felt old and a bit worn out.
Breakfast was reliable. Staff excellent. Free parking. Free wifi.
Bus just across the street takes one into Durham. Good location if you don't want to drive or park in the city.

My wife and I decided on a couple of nights away for a restive break. The hotel is well kept, pleasant reception and restaurant with VERY good staff. The food was cooked perfect (I had steak, wife had chicken) with a great wine list. Try the Organic Shiraz!!!
Breakfast is plentiful so if you leave hungry it's your own fault. Thanks to all at hotel, just what we needed.

we needed a place while travelling through Durham and didn't want to pay a lot. We booked a room with evening meal and breakfast. What a treat the food was excellent, actually took us by surprise, it was so good and so very well priced. The staff were excellent, the breakfast was wholesome and filling.for a good stopover in Durham this was perfect

Good doggy friendly hotel

I liked the doggy friendly motel type room as I could park right outside. Wonderful nature reserve right next door and doggy friendly area in the bar where I enjoyed a good evening meal.

Room ok and all the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient.
