Great pool

The room is spacious, clean and tidy, but old. Breakfast are beyond expectation, though the direction to the restaurant in the 10th floor was a bit confusing. The best part of this hotel is the pool as you can peacefully gaze the sunset above bekasi's busy street from it.

Stayed here as family of 4 with 2 young boys at their new wing for 4 nights after a long haul international flight. Fast check-in, very helpful, polite and friendly staff all around. Room clean, toiletries supplied and clean towels. We stayed at the new wing and there was work going on, but it was ok and did not trouble us at all.

We went out a lot during our stay and found that the lift in the new wing with the exit right through the mall next door help us to get around rather than going back to main lobby that would involve quite a lot of walking. Only suggestion is that to increase security on the ground floor as I found it easy to go inside the hotel even when you don't have some sort of identification (in this case, room key for hotel guests). Most of the time there was no security staff downstairs, but there were plenty on the entrance towards guest rooms on the 6th floor.

Breakfast spread was good, but could be very busy and more staff should be added especially during the weekends where there are a lot of guests with young kids. Couldn't fault the staff, as our experience was that some guests forgot their manners around the table and extensive food.

The hotel location is very good as there are malls adjacent to it and good taxi shuttle is also there. There is also a shuttle for those who want to go to a mall nearby just in case another shopping/eating atmosphere is needed.

Our other suggestion, other than extra security on the entrance door next to the mall (to avoid people other than staff and hotel guests to get the access to the hotel), is to refurbish main lobby as it really looks tired.

After all this review, would we stay again if we come to visit Indonesia next time? Yes of course.

It's high time they refurbish rooms in the old wing

I was in booking.com and was shown the picture of a contemporarily furnished executive suite. That was the reason for my decision to book that particular type of room. I was absolutely dumbfounded the room I was given looked nothing like the one in the picture in booking.com. The room looked like it has not been touched since the 1990s - since the hotel opened. There were patches in the carpeting, the air conditioning did not function well and on and on. I made a call and found out I was given a room in the old wing of the hotel.

I was finally moved to a room in the new wing - after they tried to downgrade me and other manners I won't even try to remember. Then the room looked exactly like the picture mentioned earlier. Typical of many similar establishments in Indonesia, the maintenance is always an issue. I needed to pull the shower button with a towel, bedsheet was stained, etc., the list goes on. It was a poor experience overall.

It's sad to see this because Horison in my experience had been a solid Indonesian grown brand since 1990s. Despite the convenience of the location, people now have choices nearby. When will the management of the hotel realize consumers can and will run away when they are disappointed?

Impolite Staff and Long Delay in Check In

Dear hotel management,

I experienced a delay in the check-in process because of Ms. Eva Prastika behaving impolite on me. on booking.com I have been told that "I made a reservation for others" it is clear that the future of others. I plan to go there as soon as possible. and I will be directly related payment charged in the credit card directly by booking.com. however ms. Eva asked me to swipe my credit card on the spot, when she should just me click the "guest has arrived" so this time I was potentially in claim twice by the hotel. moreover, less professional attitude with a loud tone so we were trap in a little disagreement. We need a long time to check in About a 37 min. for something that is actually already obvious and unnecessary. I think the hotel closest to the town center and will be a very pleasant experience but poorer not, it becomes a nightmare. I really do not want longer be here.

Satisfying Hotel

when I was in Bekasi, I was at the Horison hotel for a business and I was treated really well. The staff at this hotel are lovely and try to do everything to help me up. The breakfast was an amazing. Lunches and dinner were varied but again absolutely everything was edible.
My biggest problem was that despite the fact there were notices up saying you were not allowed to smoke in the hotel then people still did and it seemed to carry in the central air system. I really did not like this. I also felt that the towels smelt of cigarette smoke even though they were changed daily.
The metropolitan shopping mall is really close and very easy to walk to.
I would find it hard to decide whether to go back to this hotel.
