Far beyond my expectations

I had booked a room to stay for a business/leisure weekend and for the price I paid, I wasn't expecting much. I knew the location well and knew that places for this cost in this area were typically worn, or had little in the way of 'extras'.

After arriving I was met by two very polite ladies at reception who seemed more than ready for my arrival with a mini-map of how to find my apartment, keys (with explanation of which is used for what) and paperwork all good to go. I found my apartment fairly easily.

The room was well over twice the size I expected, with an enormous kitchen (not kitchenette) fully furnished with utensils and full sized fridge/oven/freezer/dishwasher. The oversized TV was a great surprise as was the other 40-something" TV in the master bedroom. Further, the bathroom/ensuite was big enough for 3-4 people to get ready all at once.

Power-outlets everywhere, on almost every surface with USB chargers built-in to most - 2 minute walk to the large shopping centre. Secure underground parking.

Super High-speed internet (24mb/s down + 12 Mb/s up) with easy connect WiFi router that covered the entire apartment. Free foxtel, great ice-crusher in the fridge. Perfect for relaxing or entertaining.

I could not be more impressed with this apartment. 10/10 will stay again.

Work trip

Just stayed at the Horton apts for a short 4 day stay for work.
Lovely apartment, clean and tidy with fantastic stainless steel appliances, large tv and even a stereo! Plush towels, clean sheets and loads of toiletries.
Very comfortable, with lovely pool and only a small stroll to Coles and the shopping centre.
Additional touches was a delivery menu for surrounding eateries and fans in the bedroom that really helped in moving the air conditioner around.
Checkin and out easy and was not intruded on at any time.
Loved my visit, have passed info onto work to use again!

Filthy Dirty Noisy construction Zone!
There are no Magnificent views over golf greens as it does not exist! Only dirty noisy construction site and a filthy half drained pond full of mozzies! Putrid balcony to enjoy that view from! Managers say it will be like that for about 2 years. Stay away!!!

Noisy, dirty and nil wifi

I'm working away from home for three weeks and staying with Horton. Location is fine. Outlook could be better. Layout of units are atrocious. Bedroom backs onto hallway, which is extremely noisy. Woken up numerous times during the night while stating there. Furniture is too large for lounge, TV is too small. WIFI hasn't worked since I've been here and I'm working at night, which has resulted in me using all of my data on my mobile. Not happy. Won't stay here again and wouldn't recommend.

Yes, these apartments are less expensive than others around Maroochydore, but you get what you pay for.
For a start - it overlooks a derelict paddock which was full of big puddles of water when we were there. By the look of it there hasn't been a golf course there for years. That's false advertising. Websites are easy to change. Change it.
Secondly, yes, there are balconies (overlooking the derelict paddock) but there are no flyscreens. That means sleeping with the door open is impossible unless you want to get carried away by the mossies. In a Ross River Fever area, that's irresponsible.
So, shut the windows and put on the airconditioner. To say that it rumbled like a Harley Davidson motorbike is an understatement. It needs to be serviced.
The 'dining' room is a large entrance hall.
The loungeroom is so small the furniture needed to be moved to get into the bedroom.
All that said, my main gripe is that this property is advertised dishonestly. I hate that.
If they described the property honestly and fixed the aircon I wouldn't have anything to complain about.
Oh, and it's not that clean.
