Comfortable stay
Nige and Janeon 28/06/2017 20:42We spent a night here during an 8 day cycle Tour, and had a comfortable stay. It is located in the central square of this peaceful village, and we had a helpful welcome from the owner. Our room was spacious and reasonably well equipped, and there are pleasant public spaces around the hotel. We had a good dinner in the restaurant, but only our 15 strong group were present so unclear if it is open on an ongoing basis.
Oh dear, all change!
kaeton 06/10/2016 17:57I stayed here a few years ago, a very good, full restaurant, café and bar. It was spotless and the staff helpful. The restaurant is now closed, café also, it is still spotless but very dark and gloomy. apparantly the hotel has changed hands, lets hope thing change again, for the better. Rather depressing, the fountain surrounded by wheelchairs.
Poor service
grahamrgoudeon 29/09/2016 15:07Had booked the "Gastronomic Evening" for an overnight stay and spoken to Reception staff earlier to confirm the time of our arrival that evening. However, upon arrival was then told that the restaurant was closed, furthermore, there were no other restaurants open in the village. We were advised to drive 7km back to Ayorbe, a town we had ealier passed through en-route to Loarre, where there was one restaurant open. We were not told about the lack of restaurant at the Hospederia until we arrived when they could have informed us earlier enabling us to stop in Ayorbe for dinner. I suspect this was done to ensure we attended the hotel first to check in, collect keys etc and thus release the reception staff for an early night off. They had weeks to contact me beforehad to advise the lack of facilities, but failed. Was badly disappointed with this experience.
Value for money
Sue Con 25/09/2016 22:34Was sad the restaurant was closed. The man in charge was very kind and helpful but the hotel lacked warmth and charm. Was sad there was no internet on the second floor. Perfectly adequate accomodation. Good value for money
Great staff, some dangerous short-comings
Roskerson 12/08/2016 20:10The staff, particularly the hard-working and helpful gentleman who was on duty and seemed to do everything - breakfast, reception - were great. We ended up here after a mix-up courtesy of Booking.com with another venue. But our room was a bit of a worry, as there were loose light fittings and some bare electric wires in the bathroom where the light switch had not been fitted properly. The toilet seat was also broken and so sitting (careful with that spelling) was a bit of an ordeal. Someone had tried unsuccessfully to glue it. This hotel could be great - very fine location on the square and a couple of km from the castle (don't miss) - and the owners just need to get the maintenance right. And the internet.
