Way to expensive for what you get
Thomas Don 08/07/2017 18:09This place is way to expensive for what you get! They insisted on paying before we got to the room.. makes sense when you see the room. 'Suite' with 'baƱo privado'... the bathroom is litteraly 1.5m2 with a toilet under the shower. The shower leeks and the toilet could not be flushed in a normal way. The bed is ok but far from clean. In the morning the included breakfast runs till 10. When we arrived at 9.15 there was only some cold coffee and a bowl of cereal left. When we asked if the orange juice (or anything else on the breakfast buffet) was going to be filled we just got a smiling 'no' for an answer. When your cold coffee is finished make sure you do your own dishes, put everything back in the right closets and clean your table.. cause this is not included in the service. We are not difficult people, but for one of the most expensive hostels we have had we expected some service.. We checked out after one night and got a way better, cleaner, friendly hostel with a decent breakfast for 10$ less..
Expensive for low quality
SylviaDVon 08/07/2017 17:54The place is right in the center, but is very expensive for the quality you get. The rooms are tiny and not very clean. The toilet and the shower are 1, so the bathroom is always soaked. That's ok for a budget hostel, but when you pay $35 you expect a bit more. There are cheaper and cleaner options in Mendoza. The kitchen was very clean, but there were so many people cooking and eating which makes it hard to cook s and not relaxing. Rediculously overpriced 'hostel'!
4 night stay in Mendoza
freyachon 14/03/2017 15:17HS is a fine hostel, we were in Mendoza for 4 nights and chose here really because it was a cheap deal for a double room with private bathroom. The bed was comfy and the air con was great but the bathroom was tiny - the door hit the sink so it couldn't open fully and there wasn't much space in the actual shower area because of the bidet sticking out. There's also no wifi in the bedrooms but there is free wifi in the public areas and one computer guests can use. The staff were friendly and we found them to be very helpful. Breakfast was very basic with not much choice but it was fine. We would stay here again for the price and the location.
A Return Visit because we found it suitable on other visits
Jnanayogon 06/02/2017 22:01It has been two years since we last stayed here and happy to reacquaint with Rodrigo again. The building has great location, e.g you a across the street from Mercado Central and if you cannot find enough to eat here there is. Carrefour just 2 minutes along the street. If you are a Macdonald's type it is one the corner. Got some peso to spend then adjacent to HS as you exit on your Left is an expensive but great restaurant..but stay away from the Lasagna it's cooked that night. The staff at HS are super helpful, lots of cold drinking water and we had HOT water in our #107 on demand. From our view we would have loved to see something other than White bread..locals seem to love it but for us it is Not on our menu. Fruit is usually oranges and or bananas. Kitchen had been improved and enlarged. Cleaning staff always on the move.
DO NOT STAY HERE. No hot shower, keys that break, terrible service
kat23272on 01/11/2016 14:15I'm so disappointed. I was told I had to wait 10-15minutes for the water to warm up and I waited 45 minutes and it didn't warm up at all. The staff were not helpful at all and had no answers when i asked them if i have to wait an hour. On top of that my key broke in half (i didnt use force at all) and half the key got stuck so i wasn't able to access my room with my things and medicine for the whole night. They said someone would come at night, then in the morning at 7am, then definately before 9am and then they said it could be 12/1pm before someone comes. My last day in Mendoza ruined. Staff again were very unhelpful and quite rude. Don't stay here!!
