Service Par Excellence
Van Kon 22/06/2017 18:57We knew we were in good hands when a young lady from the hotel reception came to our parked car, took the car key (for valet parking) and our two carry-on suitcases, and led us to the hotel. After a quick registration, she again insisted showing us our room on the first floor, still grabbing one of our suitcases. All receptionists at the hotel spoke good English and were eager to help. Later when one of us had persistent fever, the front desk suggested seeing doctor right away and arranged a house call to our hotel room as it was the eve before the Ascension day long weekend in France.
We stayed for 3 nights and were upgraded to a renovated room. The room was very modern with lots of amenities in the bathroom. The toilet was in a separate room with its own small sink. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, next door to St. Benign Cathedral and just one block from the main pedestrian Rue de la Liberte. As mentioned by another reviewer, the GPS might lead you into streets with mostly pedestrians. We had to wait and watch other cars exiting the street barricade before driving slowly towards two retractable, metal cylinders. When the cylinders started to descend, we sighed a big relief and drove over. Afterwards, the hotel was just a half block away.
The hotel breakfast room was in a quiet corner. The breakfast buffet was not huge, but the selection was excellent. We didn't eat at the Michelin-starred restaurant in the hotel.
We visited Dijon 10 years ago for half a day with a tour group. On this trip we had enough time to explore this historical city in more detail. Hotel Chapeau Rouge made our stay more enjoyable and mighty comfortable. We hope we won't wait that long to visit the city and stay at this hotel again.
great location
Holotropicon 21/06/2017 21:53Nice place to stay and easy to walk for food and sightseeing. It's a bit funky and fun.
We found it easy to park our large car almost right outside. Parking is free overnight but you have to pay from 0900, it was easy. Breakfast liked good but we wandered out for it this time. Our room was small clean and comfortable, all we needed for just one night. Great to have the room until 12.00 and bottled water was available in the room.
Great place to stay
Holly Hon 21/06/2017 16:13Unusual hotel in a very convenient location. Church's, historical buildings, flea market, restaurants, all within easy walking distance. Valet parking if needed. Rooms are small but clean, comfortable and quiet. Friendly staff.
Nice hotel in Dijon
Swimandgolfon 05/06/2017 22:27Had a nice room at this hotel. Not huge, but clean, quiet and nicely appointed. The picture above our bed was pretty bold, but fit with the modern décor. The front desk was very helpful and steered us to a great restaurant. We did go for the hotel's breakfast buffet...It was good, obviously convenient, and worth the money. Overall, good experience, good value.
A good choice for a stop-over - good value
HalfyBon 05/06/2017 13:3710 minutes walk from Dijon Ville station. Friendly and very helpful staff. Comfortable bed and toilet separate from the bathroom. Breakfast wasn't cheap at 18 EU but was very extensive with some interesting local specialities including three types of home made gingerbread! Room was a bit small with only one chair, but that's how the building is.
