Basic hotel ok for stopover

Clean but very very basic. Room very small down a dark stairwell into the bedroom area.
It was next to 2 large refrigerator rooms that they say stop from 9pm and start at 9am, but they start earlier in the morning.
You arrive and almost immediately asked to pay for your stay, not very welcoming.
It's overpriced at over 70 euros and breakfast if you take 8.50 (we did not chance it )
Our friend had a room on the first floor and he said it was decorated still in 70s period and his room was even smaller than ours! We had no airxonditioning, so slept with windows open. No wifi connection possible in the room either. Would definitely not go back.

I would stay there again, unfortunately very odd receptionist, but good stay

you just need to get past the rather odd reception, the woman clearly does not want to be there. However the room was very clean and well equipped, best of all the restaurant was very good indeed excellent meal

Disappointment at La Terrasse

We did not stay but visited the hotel to eat in the restaurant - we arrived only to find that the door to the hotel had a code and so we rang a bell -twice- before the manageress arrived. She didn't greet us and was moody telling us the restaurant was still being cleaned (7.35pm) and to wait in reception. No drink offered or menu given. We used to eat here regularly 10 years ago and the furniture is unchanged and tatty. Food was good and waiter v pleasant but the female owner was grumpy and couldn't wait for us to leave. Only one other couple (who were residents) on a Friday evening in mid June - says it all.

Stayed for the 3rd time at this hotel, and once again blown away by the standard of the dining, the equivalent of eating at a top London French Restaurant for the cost of a Pizza express ! The hotel is family run and accommodation is simple but clean and comfortable French, all 3 times the room has been clean tidy and well priced; However the restaurant is incredible both for quality and price, with dinner a fine dining experience. As a location its a great base for enjoying the surrounding countryside and historic towns and attractions which, as it's off the bigger tourist routes, are incredible value to someone used to UK southern prices

Terrific food

Walking with 2 friends on the Figeac to Rocamadour variant of the camino. This hotel welcomed us out of the rain and dried our wet clothes. The hotel has a comfoable reception area. The rooms are clean, modern and have a view of the park and chateau.

The main attraction is the excellent restaurant. We had a three course dinner as part of the Camino package. The dishes were presented very attractively with impeccable and discreet service. Our table had a fine view of the castle.
The breakfast was equally good - yoghurt, cereal and dried fruit in addition to the standard croissants and bread.
