A disappointment
Grahame Gon 10/03/2016 23:08Having paid for a junior suite all I got was a standard room. When queried I was told they have standard or deluxe, there seemed to be little notice taken and not much care was shown. Bed was on the firm to hard side, I was glad it was only 2 nights.
Great location, nice friendly boutique hotel
Bruce Mon 12/12/2015 20:41Arkvarel is located on a quiet pedestrian mall within a 10 minute walk to the Kremlin walls, 5 minutes to the Bolshoi Ballet and right in the heat of the shopping and restaurant area-hard to pick a better location.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in recommending great restaurants where the locals eat/ high end eateries for a special occasions, booking restaurants and generally helping out non Russian speakers to get around Moscow!
The rooms vary a bit in size as our friends who had a room on the same floor had a much larger room than us, but ours was adequate for our needs. The rooms are comfortable and bathrooms updated and both very clean and well serviced.
Breakfasts were above average with the usual meats, cereal, bread etcetera supplemented by great porridge and omelettes.
It's reasonably priced and the sleep quality was very good.
Reception staff were happy to open the bar and serve us drinks when we got on late from out of town travel -really above and beyond the call of duty!
If we ever come back to Moscow, this will be our first choice
Location and great service
Promboonon 27/09/2015 16:33Pro: 1. Great location on pedestrian streets and 7-10 mins walk to Kremlin.
2. Great service, particularly by Victor (the receptionist)
3. Good size and clean room with good prices
Con: 1. The bed is on a soft side and doesn't provide good support.
Victor was purely the reason I rate this property a four star. Otherwise, it is 3 to 3.5 stars. He was very helpful and his English command is very good.
Good hotel in City center
Mercy335on 20/09/2015 09:02This hotel is clean and well located, quite and near walking street not far from the Kreml. The staff was very nice and helpfully. Very good and fast WiFi. The breakfast is good and staff was really nice. Nearest metro station is Ohotny Rjad.
Great hotel for the price
Frank Ton 29/01/2015 06:27My girlfriend and I were coming to Moscow and we were a bit unfamiliar with the city. We decided to stay here based on a recommendation from one of her friends. It turned out to be an excellent choice! The woman at the reception was very pleasant and helped us to get to know the area around the hotel and we were checked in within minutes. We were very tired after our trip and immediately fell asleep in the room, which was well setup and more importantly clean. As it turns out the hotel is right in the center of the city and not far from a number of metro stations. The comfort features were also nice; my girlfriend especially enjoyed the free breakfast that they brought us and also the coffee was a nice touch. For the price it was really quite nice. Definitely would recommend it to any friends considering traveling to Moscow.
