Good hotel with ease of transportation
Ravindra Son 24/01/2017 12:01I stayed in the Hotel Am Forum from 3rd December to 17th December and as my work place was in Nurnberg, I found it very centrally located hotel.
quality of rooms is good. breakfast was good. most importantly, the personnel were really helpful.
Ordinary simple Hotel
Ünüşan Kon 13/07/2016 12:02I stayed in this Hotel one nicht during a tour. Very simple one. Floor covered with carpet. Clean rooms. Very small bathroom. One can barely move in the shower. That is a pity. WiFi connection was quite good. I like the breakfast that is served. Quite a good variety of fresh choices. Good teas but coffee quality was awful. In the room there is a minibar and sade with a key and I found the prices reasonable. Overall, a good choice for short stays.
Perfect connection to the Nuremberg Messe
Rodrigo Pon 19/02/2016 22:23We exhibited at a fair at the Nuremberg Messe. Looking for hotels in Nuremberg we found that those close to the Messe were extremely expensive and those that offered a good tariff in central Nuremberg were not well connected to the Messe. We decided to stay at the Am Forum Hotel in Furth, which is adjacent to Nuremberg, but is located just in front of the entrace to the subway station in Line 1 which runs directly to Messe station. Additionally, exhibiting at the Messe we were able to ride the subway without the need to buy any tickets, which is a big plus. The room was fine, though a little too hot, but with comfortable beds and very fast wifi. The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice of breads, hams, cheeses, juices, and runs from 06H30 to 09H30. The only problem we experienced was with the electrical connectors, as the type of connector is different in Europe, and at first, when I asked in reception if they had a adapter I could use they told me they didn't, but the person in charge the following day was much more willing to help and within 10 minutes got me one. From 23H00 there is no reception, so be careful about arriving later, as there is nobody to deliver your keys.
Quiet, conveniently located in front of a U1 station
pptaron 26/11/2015 20:17Good for the SPS Drives fair, only 30 minutes away from the Messe by the metro U1 (direct). The good thing is that you can grab a seat sit in the U-Bahn, even during rush hour, as this is one of the first stations of the U1 line. It gets very crowed by the time the metro reaches the Main Station in Nuremberg.
The U1 station is in front of the hotel, you even have an elevator that gets you directly to the platform. The station is 2 stops from the Fürth Main Station when you come from downtown Nüremberg or from the Messe.
The hotel is very quiet, especially room 210 that faces a backyard.
Comfort is basic, but way enough, and the room is 100% functional. The hotel's photos show some old model TV, but I actually had a flat screen TV in my room with HDMI input.
The only downside is the heat. It was 1°C outside during the night, but it was so hot and dry inside the room that I had to sleep with both windows wide open. The air is extremely dry inside the room, there is no way to turn the radiator off.
Breakfast is basic, but good.
You can grab newspaper in the morning at reception for free (Financial Times plus some German newspaper).
I Can't Believe This Gets 4 Stars on Bookings.com!!!
BHNHon 19/08/2015 21:59If this were a 2 or even 3 star place of very oldest prices, my expectations would have been very different, but this is no quaint or luxurious boutique hotel. i chose this hotel because it is a I minute walk from my son's apartment. Though I have not tried any other places in Furth, I cannot think of any other reason to opt for it. On the good side, the staff is as nice as can be, the shower power is envigorating, the breakfast is very nice, and the free wifi is excellent. But that really does not outweigh the negatives, especially in warm weather. I arrived two days after the major heat wave, and I was still uncomfortable. I would not have stayed beyond one night in temps over 75 degrees F. If I left the windows wide open all night I was okay, but I felt kind of vulnerable since I really was not high off the ground level, so I just left the windows open at the top and sweltered through much of the night. Then came daytime. What to do with the windows again? I couldn't leave them wide open inviting invaders!! Okay, so I left them open on top again to let some air in. But how about the sun beating in? If I closed the shades, no air circulated, and if I opened the shades, the sun beat in. There was no good answer. The hotel simply did not plan for temperatures over 65degrees F. This hotel is off my list, close to my son or not. And truthfully, my single room was really pathetic. Again -- if I had been led to expect a really cut-rate experience, I would not have been annoyed, but I paid 2 Euro more per night than I was paying for a really nice room in Nuremberg at a hotel with really nice amenities--like an actual lounge in the lobby-- for the previous 3 nights. I wrote clicked on "not sure" below for bar or lounge because the hotel does offer bar service, but I could never call what's in the lobby a lounge!! I should have just stayed in the first place and taken the UBahn to Furth every morning!!
