Usual quality R&C hotel experience but delivered with a big smile!
Adrian Won 11/07/2017 13:31As Domaine de la Bretesche is part of the R&C group we expected a high standard in every aspect, and we were certainly not be disappointed. The food is outstanding, but then the fact that the chef holds a Michelin star tells you that. The rooms are spacious,well equipped and very comfortable and the facilities are superb, in particular the outside pool. All this is to be expected from a R&C property but what set this one apart, in our experience, were the staff. Everyone, from the Director (who personally meets the guests at some point in their stay) the chef and managers, to the room stewards, waiting staff and gardeners, was friendly and engaging at all times. In fact, we never saw an unhappy looking member of staff. Thank you all for making our long weekend one of the most relaxing breaks we can remember for a very long time.
Stunning location and stay
Chris Son 08/07/2017 07:08What a stunning location and hotel. Stayed here 4 nights with colleagues for our summer conference. The hotel facilities are fantastic. Lovely conference room. The hotel is situated in stunning grounds, perfect for creating the right atmosphere for the conference. We were looked after exceptionally well by all of the staff throughout our stay, all of whom went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best. Thank you for a magnificent week!
Probably the most striking chateau to look at!
bennySouthendon 04/07/2017 20:18The hotel is right next to the most beautiful chateau and was converted to a luxury hotel from the chateau's outbuildings - the old stables are now a bar. It would appear that no expense has been spared on this conversion a number of years ago and the result is a splendid hotel that maintains the high standards of the Relais & Chateaux group of which this is a member. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would certainly stay here again if we are ever in the area.
A little slice of peace & quiet with golf and fine dining
CotswoldsHappyDiveron 08/06/2017 18:36This was our second attempt to stay here, first ended badly when we broke down earlier in our holiday and ended up returning to the UK ahead of time. But we were determined to try again and this time we succeeded and very glad we did.
Hotel really helpful ahead of our stay with reservations for dinner and golf made on our behalf.
Service from everyone was excellent, friendly and attentive. The dining was first class with plenty of choice and very knowledgeable service. Our room was in the main house and as this was a bit of a treat it was worth the additional costs. All in all, lovely stay, its not cheap, its not the sort of course where the Ryder Cup would be held but pretty and challenging enough in places
Nice hotel in green grounds
pialeonon 11/05/2017 11:29If you want to escape for a few days this is the place to be nice spa great restaurant and atipical bar, must see, old horse stables and a lovely golf course. The concierge will help you as he can to organize all your needs.
