What People are saying

Perfect location

clmilleon 13/03/2017 11:34

We were visiting our daughter who is studying abroad and this hotel was the perfect location. On the main square and a short walk to the smaller square and Maastricht University. The TV is old but the hotel is lovely quaint. If you want modern this is not your place, if you want authentic and centrally located this is a great choice. All the staff were very warm.

Disappointing hotel

Johan Son 22/02/2017 14:56

This hotel is potentially a very great spot. Unfortunately the owners and the staff have no idea how to manage and maintain it in a proper way.
The location is perfect in the historic area of the city, just around the corner of the Market Square. The building itself has a great appearance outside and inside as well, especially the breakfast room is in good condition and lovely decorated. This room is actually the restaurant Danyel. The disappointing journey starts with the mouldy smell in the hall and at the staircases. Climbing old and threadbare carpeted stairs in a half lighted (or dark) and smelling atmosphere is the next experience. And after 6 times trying opening our roomdoor the next disappointment appears; an outdated room, dark, only a little dormer, crooked curtains, a television from the 80's, a modernish seating, a van-less bathroom, noise from the neighbouring rooms, and again a mouldy smoky smell even though the room was properly cleaned. Looking outside the window I noticed several loose roof tiles and a full gutter. During the night the air conditioning sometimes blew some new smoky air into the room but we switched everything off!
The breakfast took a long time, the staff was running in and out, no coordination, no management, no idea what when to serve, although the quality of the food was very good.
I'll give a few advices to make this hotel the best of the city, because it has the chance to be.
1) keep all your efforts in the hotel
2) Take care for your staff; instruct them well, manage them well and please don't let them work after only a few hours of sleep (like last sundaymorning)
3) Renovate the hotel in a classy way; don't use cheap material

Beautiful stay, wonderful owners!

This quaint hotel is located in a super convenient area of Maastricht, very close to all shops and restaurants.
The owners, Daniel and his wife were super nice and helpful and made our stay very memorable. Friendly staff overall. We had dinner in their cosy restaurant, and Daniel the owner is also the chef. Excellent food! He went out of his way to make me a vegan dish, even though it was not on the menu. Nice! Thank you! Next time in Maastricht will visit again!

Badly run hotel

LucreciaBVHon 13/11/2016 20:19

From the moment we got in we had problems. We entered to our room and found 3 birds inside (the housekeeper forgot to close the door before our arrival). We called the manager but he said he "wasn't an animal person" so my husband had to cacht them. Then we found that the beds had some poo and have to call for asistence.
The hotel is very nice and very well located. But it's just poorly managed.
At check in we were asked at what time we woild like breakfast... and assumed was included in the rate. For our surprise we were charged 17,50 euros per person. We think it was outrageous for the poor offer and the huge delay in the service. So if you still want to have breakfast at the hotel be ready to spend there at least one hour.

Good location and friendly staff

We stayed one night in this hotel. The location was very good, close to everything downtown. Staff was very friendly. The restaurant was very cosy. We only had drinks downstairs, but next time we will also eat there. The room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed.

Some drawbacks: wifi did not work, the hotel room walls were very thin (you could hear your neighbours), and the curtains a bit short, which let light flow into the room.

I could stay here again and can especially recommend for one night. Wish they would fix the wifi though...
