What People are saying

7:00 am for a SWIM

Rain Hon 18/05/2017 00:21

I had to go to an emotional funeral ceremony nearby Utrecht with a lot of family members....And I knew I needed peace, quiet and nature to get over it!
I grabbed my favorite cousin and we stayed the night in this tranquil place. Much to our surprise there was an enclosed, heated swimming pool and after a refreshing nights sleep, we jumped into the pool swimming lap after lap in the clean and sweet water at 7:00 AM.
Afterwards.....The big buffet breakfast is well worth it and we appreciated the free parking and WIFI.

A lovely find!

Just returned from a 3 night stay in this good value for money hotel. We were a group of 16 adults traveling for a dance competition and used the hotel as our base. The hotel is about 15km from Utrecht, in a lovely peaceful wooded area. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and the barman in the main bar is a great character! The bedrooms are a decent size, but would benefit from better main lighting. There is a good size shower/wet room complete with toiletries, and a separate toilet which is a great idea! There are tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, as well as two separate free refreshment areas on the ground floor which are available until 6pm. Breakfast was in the main restaurant and offers plenty of choice, and is replenished regularly. The staff even opened breakfast half an hour earlier for us on the day of the competition as we had an early start - this was much appreciated!! We also availed of the hotel's packed lunch service that day - for €12.50pp we each received individual cooler bags with 3 sandwiches, an apple, a mandarin, a mars bar and a can of orange juice! What a great idea!! We didn't have dinner in the restaurant, but we did eat dinner on one evening in the bar, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced! The facilities in the hotel include a small swimming pool and sauna, and a gym. The hotel is a bit out of the way if you don't have transport- we didn't - but there is an hourly bus service during the day which will take you to the local train station with links to Utrecht, Amsterdam and beyond. The buses stop early though and taxis need to be booked with plenty of notice as they take their time arriving! All in all, we had a great weekend and plan to return!

Nice and quiet

In Den Dolder, some 15 km from Utrecht, is where you find this pleasant hotel. Although a busy road is close by you don't really notice it and you're welcomed by a green setting. A warm welcome at the reception and also pleasant hospitality in the restaurant make for a good start of your stay. The room was also fine as was breakfast. All at a honest price and what i also liked is that they use part of the proceeds from the hotel for their youth program! No time to use either the gym or the pool unfortunately; that will have to wait until my next visit

Nice place to stay

this hotel is good. We had expected a more romantic place but it turned out to be more of a conference hotel. Still, it is situated in a lovely area. People who love walks in the forest and visiting quaint little places and maybe a palace or two will find this hotel to be a very nice starting point. The room is basic but the beds are good and the shower room is big enough and well appointed. The staff is very friendly and some of them seem to be able to read your mind.

The only disappointment was part of the breakfast. Most of it is good, The variety is oexcellent. The coffee is a pleasure. It is on the hot dishes the fell down. The bacon was overdone, the mushrooms looked like they had been on the hot plate for hours and looked very leathery. The first batch of scrambled eggs was good but when I went for a helping for my wife later there was a new batch and that was so under done that it was inedible. Having said that, the rest of the breakfast choices were excellent.

This hotel is an excellent starting point for lovely walks. Has lovely beds, a great staff, excellent coffee and a very good breakfast as long as you stay away from the mushrooms, the scrambled eggs and the bacon

Great location and value for money

We stayed here a few days to relax. The hotel itself is actually a conference hotel and very efficient, but for a long weekend it also has a nice ambiance. Very well equipped and decorated rooms, albeit very small. A nice detail is that you can grab tea and coffee not only in your room but also at several other locations in the hotel.
