I stayed at the Hotel Estelar En Alto Prado, Barranquilla, Columbia, July 14-16, and frankly I was disappointed because I did not get the service I expected.

1. In the bedroom, in terms of sitting there were only functional chairs -(like in an office at a desk). There was no easy arm chair or similar to relax, sit and read.

2. Nor was there a machine to make hot water or tea. And when I requested one, the hotel said they had none. True, they did offer to bring a kettle with hot water - but who wants to have to order up hot water whenever one wants to make a cup of tea.

3. Nor was the hotel cooperative regarding bedding. The hotel provides a dubet. Since I have migraine and have an allergy, I requested regular blankets. I was told the hotel did not have blankets.

Even communicating this request to the room staff was problematic - taking about half an hour -- since none of them understood adequate English.

True, the reception staff in the lobby were polite and helpful, especially Andre. All in all, if you have specific requests - as we all do when we go to a hotels and like to be pampered - sadly this hotel is not the place to turn to.

Good place fair price

This is nice hotel with a good breakfast buffet. Room was clean and beads were good too. I had an issue with the iron it was never replaced it. Room service was good. Staff was helpful and very attentive.

We came here due to a wedding that was happening next door at the club. It came highly recommended as it allegedly had 5 stars and was in a premium location.

Food - descent food, but not good enough for a five star hotel.
Service - very average, we had some issues with a package getting lost. We ended up going through security footage to prove our point. After over 24 hours the package was mysteriously found. The room service guys had a terrible attitude.
Cleanliness - TERRIBLE! My wife dropped and earring so we ended up looking under the bed and counters. Such filth! Candy wrappers, dust everywhere. The towel we used not to get completely dirty was black by the time we got the earring back.

The hotel is not worth the money they charge for the alleged five stars they posses.

Stay at the hilton hotel it will be cheaper and have better service.

Terrible service for a "5" stars hotel

The entire stay was a complete nightmare,

− At the entrance, the bellboy offered to help when I was at the reception desk, quite late!!!!
− The room service area never answered the phone, so was impossible to eat, I had to dinner a couple of things from the minibar.
− The sealants of the windows do not close the gaps and the wind´s noise is terrible and I could not rest.
− The service in the third floor restaurant is really bad, first day nobody offered coffee or a hot beverage.
− Second day, at 5:30 pm when arrive to the room, nobody had arranged the bed, look´s like I am not important for the hotel.

It is a shame for this kind of hotel to offer this kind of service, I tried to speak twice with the manager (Mrs. Vilma Vivas) but according to the receptionist, she was not at the hotel.

Good sleep quality and room service food

I stayed one night in this hotel on a business trip - it was fine, and what I hoped for from a business hotel. The check-in and service were good, and the room was quiet and dark at night. I was surprised by the quality and portions of the room service. My only complaint is that, like in some other hotels in Colombia, the alarm clock lost power when I left the room and removed the key card, so it was always blinking 12:00 and useless as a clock.
