Rooms are nicely decorated and restaurants serves delicious food. Breakfast had a wide spread and was very tasty. Staff is cordial especially GM Mr. Tapas Dey. Nice place to stay.

Kaushik Mon 21/08/2017 17:52Prompt service and courteous staff. Centrally located. Places like Immaculate conception church, River casinos and cruise, Dona Paula are very nearby.
They have six restaurants within the hotel serving all kind of cuisines. Go for it.
Close & convenient
Chandan Con 17/08/2017 05:51I firt went to Hotel Fidalgo when I was a kid. I understand that that hotel was closed down for a brief period of time, and was re-opened around 2006/7 (unsure about the dates). This hotel is right in the heart of Panjim city. For people on short business trips, it makes perfect sense to stay here. This hotel is also ideal for all casino lovers, who flock to Goa everytime there is an opportunity presents itself.
I found the staff very cordial and warm. My check-in was completed quickly, and I was escorted to the room. Unfortunately, there was a huge pillar right in the middle of my room and that stressed me out. Had I been traveling with family, I would have sure raised this as a concern - but since, I was on a work trip, that pillar wasn't the worst thing bothering me. The bathrooms are not lavish, and is begining to look like they need some makeover.
They offer in-room dining. Their in-room dining service is quick, the portions, good; and the taste - great. Being a Bengali, I did call for a Bengali dish to check if they are really being true to the cuisine. Unfortunately, that Bengali dish was a disaster. But overall, their food is good. I did not get time to visit their restaurants, and therefore, cannot comment. Breakfast, I believe, is complimentary. The spread is not too elaborate, but does provide all the basic stuff.
All in all, the experience was as per my expectation - nothing too fancy & extravagant, but in the meanwhile it screams 'value for money'. For all party-lovers and beach-lovers who are planning a Goa vacation, this may not be the ideal place. However, if you are going to be in Panjim or, exploring a casino-waala weekend, Hotel Fidalgo is a great choice.
Happy travels!

Great staff - a special thanks to Cassandra( super star at the Front Office), Mario great at assistance....staff from housekeeping, main porch, bell desk, restaurant... and great F&B headed by Ajay Singh.
Weaknesses
Don't deal with sales team as they you could do a better job thru local OTA's Do not understand the difference between long stay guests and creating repeat clientele... need to really work on their skill set...
Wifi sucks .... really very bad.... They push you to Jio which is a free internet for them.... but never works... even the Fidalgo works one day but not the other...
