What People are saying

Lovely hotel at reasonable price

penguinnotlobon 30/07/2017 07:27

We stayed for two nights at the Hotel Grand Canal. It was comfortable, clean with additional chairs as well as the bed and has a great location. It's right next to the Oude Delft, the old canal and everything is within walking distance. We didn't have breakfast as there are so many different cafes to choose from within the city.

Big comfortable rooms in a great location

The hotel location is great - the canal is right outside your window! It is also an easy walk to the train station and to the main square of the old town. The property itself is a historical building and the room size was much bigger than we expected, even having room for comfortable chairs.

The staff were all very friendly.

The shower was a decent size, with good water pressure and hot water. But the toilet area is a bit awkward, especially if you are tall and there is no safe in the room.

The breakfast was nice, but didn't seem worth the EUR12.50

WIFI wasn't great

1st visit to Delft

Check in was smooth. Card machine wasnt working so we had to pay cash for our stay. Receptionist was friendly and explained where everything was. We were allowed to store our bikes in the laundry room overnight for safekeeping. We didnt have breakfast but there was a lovely bakery just down the road. Beds were comfy but room was quite small and bathroom a bit cramped. Wasn't too much of a problem on this occasion as we were only staying for one night, but would have liked a bigger room if we were staying longer. Lots to see in Delft and wished we could have stayed longer. We would stay here again and would recommend as its fairly central for getting into town

Excellent Location - Clean and Modern Hotel

This hotel is VERY close to the central station in Delft - about a 5-minute walk through an alley directly opposite the station. We stayed three nights in mid June 2017.

Our room (no. 15) overlooked a canal - and was clean and modern. Bathroom was quite small - have to close the door to use the sink or toilet. A nice touch was snacks every afternoon at 6:00 - coffee, tea, lemonade, snack mix, and cookies. As well, there are seating areas for reading or conversation on the 2nd floor (near the snack area).

Breakfast was included in the price of our room - and it was very nice, plentiful, fresh, and a good variety. Two mornings there was a large group of guests who were quite loud, so a quiet leisurely breakfast was not possible.

It was quite warm during our stay - and the only relief we got was the podium fan in the room - it would have been nice to have a ceiling fan as well.

Another warning - there is no elevator in the hotel - so the rooms on the third or fourth floor require lots of climbing.

Unbeknownst to us, the owners had contracted to have some exterior renovations done during the months around our stay. They notified us when we arrived - and the workers started at 7:00 in the morning. So, if you wanted to "sleep in" it was not possible.

Bottom line, pleasant boutique hotel - friendly staff - reasonably priced - and excellent location and fast wifi.

lovely

we booked for a short weekend away after we got married and before our baby is born, I emailed the hotel to tell them it was our honeymoon and they left us a lovely note with free wine and chocolates for our stay, we were both really touched, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and the rooms were really nice, for the price I would definitely stay here again and the city is so beautiful.
