Great staff in a great hotel

Second time here in 3 months, so must have impressed me first time! Nice rooms with floor to ceiling windows, nice touches in bathroom and as IHG card holder I saved money on the rooms! Plus point is breakfast up at MPW! Staff are lovely here, a nice relaxed unstuffy approach! Def back next time!

Very unhappy to notice My card was charged an extra £100 without my notice!!! Apparently I was smoking in the room, when this wasn't the case at all, I don't even smoke In my own house, let alone when I'm staying out and I know people have to clean up after me. When I spoke to the manager he had no real explanation but "there was a smell in the corridor and throughout other rooms but it was mine that smelt the most". I wouldn't even complain, if I did it!!! but the fact that I'm being told I'm lying is the one thing that really gets me. He didn't offer any solutions to get this resolved, has I feel I've been charged unfairly!!! Over priced rooms and even the Swimming facilities wasn't open when we arrived. I wouldn't recommend this hotel again to anyone, there are hotels with better customer service and good value for money in the town.

Great Hotel, Nice staff however horrible room service food

Arrived at the hotel with my partner. We were warmly greeted and swiftly checked in.
We were on the 24th floor, the room was spacious, nice view at night, the bed was comfortable, the toiletries in the bathroom were of very high quality.
The room also had a free android phone you can use to surf the web and look up local attractions.
In addition there was complimentary non alcoholic drinks in the fridge with some crisps and chocolate.

Before we were going out we wanted to eat, I ordered 2 espresso Martinis and a chicken Kiev and burger.
The burger came but it had bacon in it, my partner does not eat bacon so they took it back. The Kiev was horrible, it tasted like a microwave meal from a low cost supermarket. The coffee martinis were not made correctly. They charged £79.80 for the above, this was nearly the same price as the room.

I complained to reception, the lady sent the
Manager to my room. 2 people arrived; I made my complaint about the food and drinks, the manger was understanding, he did offer a refund however I refused because I didn't want him to think I was complaining for the sake of getting a refund. I just wanted to make it clear that the food and drinks were horrible. Looking back now I should have taken the refund.

The location of the hotel is great, we went for cocktails at Harvey Nicholas bar which is literally a 2 minute walk across. Lovely cocktails.

We tried to go to the 25th floor bar back at the hotel at 10.45pm which the lady at the hotel told me was open however when we arrived the bartender advised they had closed.

Good night sleep, nice and quiet and comfortable, no noise from the corridors.

We had breakfast included in our room package, good selection of juices and pasties. We were able to select from the menu for our main meal. I chose the full English breakfast (was priced at £20) however we had it included. The kind and polite waitress took our order, the food arrived about 10 minutes later. The poached egg was lovely, however the bacon was literally all fat, the sausages were over cooked and tasted rubbery.
My partner had the salmon and scrambled egg she said it was ok. The view was nice and it was peaceful atmosphere with polite staff.

I used the spa facility located on the lower floor after breakfast. Small area but it was nice and relaxing. Welcomed by the gym team and given a towel.

We then checked out, very swift and prompt checkout, we were given complimentary bottles of water on checkout for the drive back to london.

Overall a good stay, nice hotel, nice facility, very friendly and accommodating staff (which is very important to me) Only thing that let me down was the room service food and breakfast.

Definitely would stay again when I go to Birmingham.

Great location close to the Mail Box. We stayed on a DBB deal. The room was very modern. Ground to floor windows gives great views of the city. Spectacular when the sun came up. Good bed and nice bathroom. Very clean with good facilities. They were doing some refurbishment above our room so at times there was some extra noise.

We ate at Marco Pierre Whites restaurant which was included in our package. Food was excellent and restaurant staff good. Bar staff could be more welcoming and friendly!! However overall very good.

We would stay again.

Lovely hotel in a great location

Hard to find much wrong with this one! If I was being picky I think a choice of pillows would be beneficial. The ones on the bed were a bit flat. I was happy with them but my wife was disappointed. Tea and coffee making was a bit rudimentary. Many hotels have coffee pods rather than instant granules. But you have to check out the views from the restaurant and bar on the top floor. Breakfast wasn't included so we went to the nearest Caffè Nero- which was lovely by the way. Anyway Indigo gets my vote and would definitely return.
