Pilgrims traveling to Vaishnavdevi have to look for an accommodation in Katra at least for dumping the baggage, which otherwise have to be carried to the hill-top (which is not practicable). So we have booked the rooms in Hotel Ishwar.

Hotels in Katra, in general arrange for picking up the customers on their return from Vaishnovdevi to Katra without any charges. I understand that this the free service extended by all hotels.We have also availed this facility and they have picked up us from the Helipad at Katra. Though we have reached the hotel after 8.00 O'clock in the morning, we could not get any food stuff other than bread roast and tea and we had to look for alternative restaurant for our regular break fast.

While the hotel appeared to be good outside, the facilities provided in the hotel were of below standard. Geyser as well as Air-conditioner provided in my room were not working. Hotel has extended discount on regular tariff.

Need a room for dumping your goods en-route to Vashnavdevi. It is immaterial as to how good or bad the rooms are. Bargain for price and book the room as you will not be staying for more than 4/5 hours in this place if you are a visitor to temple.

Good place to stay...value for money!!

Initially I was afraid to put up at this hotel after having a look at the reviews posted here. But on recommendation of one of my friends (who is regular visitor to Vaishno Devi) I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights 12/13th December and was quite pleased during the stay. Now I can confidently recommend others also to stay here and have a great value for money experience.

its one of the worse experience for me with my father as it should be good experience but unfortunately it was worse experience there was not even clean sheets for the bed as well as icing on the cake was cockroaches all around in bathroom on request and demanding hotel manager said do you want me to spray room and bathroom or just leave your bathroom light on they will not come in your room.

Not so good hotel

I stayed there for 1 night last week. Hotel is big , but lack cleanliness. There were cockroach in the room, earlier we thought it is coming from wash room, but then we realise it is coming from doors. Doors were having holes and old ones. We got carpeted room, attached to bathroom, but there were no exhaust in bath room, so all smell were coming to room. As every one has to get fresh and move for darshan, no one bother for this, but when you come back and want to do rest, then you really bother .. The food was not good except Parantha.. I would recommend to have food out side only.. Main part, try to clear all things in advance.. I heard this hotel charges extra then what they says .. we say there were arguments.. As the hotel is far away from Banganga / buss stand they provide pick & drop. My experince was not that good.. so I would not recommend this.. try to bargain, as during season they increase price ..

Very Good hotel

In May 2007, first time I stayed at this hotel. It was recommended to me by my family friends. I stay in UK but every year I surely visit Maa Vaishno Devi and everytime I stay at this hotel. It's more like a home to me now and am in good touch with the owner Mr. Vishal Sharma (very intelligent guy). During my first stay here, I forgot my Rado watch in my room and I did'nt realise it till the time I reached Delhi. And, by this time Mr Vishal had already informed my family friends that I have forgot my watch there. Within two days my watch was delivered in Delhi by Vishal's friend. So from there onwards whenever I visit India and Maa Vaishnodevi..I just put up at this hotel. I just enjoy my stay there. Honesty is the best service that one can provide.
