CharlesKennedyon 23/04/2017 01:14Isla Verde was a dream! My wife and I stayed for our honeymoon and were blown away. The property is absolutely stunning and is very peaceful and relaxing. The dining area overlooking the lake is to die for and the food was incredible. The staff was very nice and spoke english very well. We had an amazing time relaxing, reading, and sun bathing. Kayaking and swimming is very close and was the perfect amount of activity before we got back to the much needed relaxing. This place is a MAGICAL FAIRYTALE COME TRUE!

Stacie Ron 30/03/2017 15:54We had a fantastic time at Isla Verde. We spent 10 amazing days at this location for a yoga retreat. The morning breakfast served buffet style was healthy with fruit, eggs, homemade bread and jams, roasted tomatoes and granola. We had both lunch and dinner served to us... we were given a choice to have chicken or tofu. All meals were made with love by the hard working ladies in the kitchen. We were greeted at the dock by the manager 'Oli' immediately and our bags were taken to our respected rooms for us. The staff at Isla Verde, especially the volunteer staff.... Avalon that's you, made the trip. They offered suggestions on places to visit, took the time to sit and chat with us... I will always consider them my friends.

Convenient for boat transportation to other towns, kayak rentals, lake swimming, yoga classes. Very attentive staff to follow up on shuttles and transportation to and from the airport, setting up tours for seeing the sights, cooking classes etc...
I was staying with family but solos, couples and friends also enjoyed this stay. The house we reserved had 4 twins and 1 king bed, a front porch and upper bal
cony.
A Breath of Fresh Air
maryb601on 28/01/2017 18:52I had the pleasure of staying at Isle Verde for a yoga retreat Jan. 2017. What a great way to start the year. The staff was amazing, so attentive, especially the manager Ollie, who spent many hours on the phone coordinating the rescue of my luggage that was delayed by United. I really never thought it would make it the long bus ride, and then by boat, but Ollie got it done! The hotel itself has the most amazing view of the lake, mountains and Volcano. The outdoor yoga studio was incredible. First you have the great view, then the flowers hanging from the trellis above. So on my mat I would look up and see hummingbirds feeding. Rooms were kept very clean, beds were comfortable. The showers are solar , but when I timed it right, late afternoon, they were nice and hot. The clear, blue water of the lake was prefect for paddle boarding and kayaking. Great massages as well. The food was also fresh and delicious.

I came as a solo female traveler which was a little out of place but I'm scouting locations for yoga retreats, and this spot is PERFECT! It's the right amount of adventure (having to take a boat to get there) and seclusion. I stayed in a small treehouse with the shared bathroom and it was a great deal. The view and the deck are so beautiful. The food in the restaurant was also really good (only had breakfast and lunch). The yoga studio is really beautiful and they have aerial silks too! The visiting yoga teacher Hillary gave nice adjustments :) I also got a Shiatsu massage from Lucio which was amazing!! I had a pizza dinner at the Iguana hostel down the way one night which the hosts helped me set up, and took a boat into San Marcos one morning for some shopping. The hosts Oliver and Flo were so nice and accommodating, too :) Oh yeah and they had a fire going in the lounge area at night since it was a little chilly and that was a great place to meet people! I can't wait to visit again, and hopefully bring a yoga group!
