All good with one exception
Bomohon 13/08/2017 15:48Location is very good and room is larger than most by Japan standards. Bathroom large enough with a good shower. Aircon works well and controllable. Staff pleasant and efficient.
I had made a booking months ago and got a JAL city hotel confirmation. Hence I looked for a JAL hotel and cannot find it. Luckily I entered mystays and asked them where is JAL city!!!!!
Good Location but inflexible staff's service attitude
Sheena Aon 23/05/2017 17:21I booked this hotel after reading some reviews about the good location. The hotel is easily accessible via airport limousine ( stop at Ehime Newspapers Stop) and just need to cross the road to reach the hotel. Also easy to take a tram at the left side of the hotel (3 minutes walk) to visit DOGO Onsen, Matsuyama Castle, shopping district Okaido and Takashimaya Department Store. So Location is the Best part of this hotel!
For front desk service, they are more polite towards local Japanese guests. We booked a "Free & Easy Tour package " which came with one night accommodation at this hotel. In addition, we booked another 3 nights ( same standard) to continue with our stay. However, the front desk staffs named Yamazaki-san and Sasaki-san were very inflexible and insisted that we need to stay in one room on 12th floor for first night and then move to another room on 9th floor on following day.
What made us unhappy was - their rules is check out must be before 12:00 noon and then re-check in after 2:00 pm ! That is so unreasonable and actually spoiled our plan of leaving the hotel in the morning for sightseeing ! What they expect us to do during 12 noon to 2 pm ? I don't understand what kind of policy they have? Or it was these two staff's poor work attitude?
Size of room for Single was really small ( 18 sqm). Twin bed room was 22 sqm so was quite comfortable for Japan's standard.

aBoateron 20/03/2017 10:42What could be a pleasant hotel is, sadly, barely acceptable. Staff is helpful and the location is fine, but the hotel has a tired, down-at-the-heels quality that is a bit depressing. Like other hotels we've stayed in, the rooms are stuffy, with heating chugging away on an otherwise springl-like day.p It'll do for a night in a what seems to be a bit of a cowtown, but I wouldn't want to spend any more time than that.
Good service, great view
kid son 03/03/2017 04:24Our room had a wonderful view of the Matsuyama castle, whilst still being walkable from the main JR station. staff were very helpful, and room was (slightly) bigger than what we were used to in Japan, with all the usual amenities provided.
Great location but crap wifi
tav_mindon 15/10/2016 10:45The room was great - view over the castle and its nice green hilltop and long moat in front of hotel. But really in a hotel like this you'd expect something better than the city free wifi that was virtually inoperable - bad show indeed!
