sudhan20on 20/08/2017 13:41Since pondy are limited to South Indian Breakfasts.. one has to say they are only better among the others. The service,Food are all very very average... But its ok to have a dinner with family since they have got good parking lots for cars.

Raajzon 17/07/2017 18:03To be honest, we were quite skeptical to stay at the Hotel Jayaram in Pondy after reading the mixed reviews here.
But we were pleasantly surprised as the stay over the weekend ended up being quite comfortable and very satisfying one too!
The front desk were very courteous and even accomodated some of our requests reg check in/out.
We booked two double bed rooms and they were very spacious and had comfortable double beds, clean bathrooms.
Best of this hotel, like mentioned in several other reviews, is their (akshara) restaurant that serves south indian vegetarian food. Though we were booked on an EP, we were totally happy with the options for paid breakfast and dinner as the food was not just tasty but served fresh almost instantly! Definitely a must try for all south indian food lovers!
While the food is slightly pricey, we felt it was justified by the taste and service. Only slight disappointment is that not all waiters here are pleasant/friendly, could be because the place is kind of over crowded than expected. But thankfully it didnt bother us much.
Overall a good "boarding and lodging" option in almost heart of the pondy town which is good for a weekend stay.

Old Place but Very Good to stay
Shashikson 11/04/2017 16:10The best part of this place is that its so close to the main market and the beach.
You can reach the beach after walking across the market in about 2 km. The facilities are good, but as I mentioned since its an old property the floors, bathroom fittings and things like that feel old. Its clean, but doesn't look like that, though it doesn't look dirty too. The food is very ordinary nothing great but still expensive for the quality it provides.
Rooms rates are definitely in mid-range. Staff is friendly and there is a parking area where your vehicles are safe. Overall a decent place to stay.
Better hotels available at this price
906sanyabon 11/04/2017 12:00This hotel was booked for us by a family friend. I would personally not chose this hotel if I ever visit pondi again. We had two rooms booked, one room did not have basic amenities like towels, soap etc. One of the lights in the room wasn't working, complimentary water is supposed to be provided but it was not. When we called to say that, the staff said call housekeeping for the same as they couldn't be bothered with it. Then we were charged for the supposedly complimentary water bottles. The hotel boasts of free wifi but over our two day stay whenever we asked for wifi password they said it's down and they won't know how long will it take to fix the wifi. I had read about the wifi issue on TripAdvisor but didn't believe it till now. So they basically have wifi but won't provide it free to the customers, its jus a gimmick! IMO, there are much better hotels available at this price near French quarters so chose wisely!
