Restored rooms

The restaurant and wine bar is good and even the breakfast but the hotel lacked service. I was traveling with 5 luggage and when I checked in I was informed that there was no one to help me with the luggage. This could be a great 5 star hotel or luxury hotel if they worked on their service.
Wonderful Experience
MGB074on 29/05/2017 19:46As you can expect the experience at Kastel Bloemental is fit for a king. The rooms are large and clean. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff are super friendly and helpful and gave good English and the region has unique vistas for The Netherlands, hills. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there for three nights and highly recommend it.
Info on website is not correct, room cannot be cooled.
Boarzon 29/05/2017 19:28The website of this hotel says the rooms have climate control. But watch out: this is not AC. It is a sort of fan that blows air into the room. It does not cool the room, the climate is not controlled. For me this is misleading information. We especially choose this hotel because of the climate control and comfort of a cool room during the warm weather. On arrival a receptionist provided us with a fan. On check out I mentioned it again. The receptionist told us the manager was not in the hotel and promised us he would call us back. Uptill now we haven't heard anything from the hotel. Another promise that van der Valk did not keep. Work to be done here.
Old-fashioned rooms in impressive castle
Chavi_Amsterdamon 01/05/2017 09:48The castle is impressive and the fact that it owns a private parking just in front is a big advantage. The setting is wonderful, in the center of the town Vaals, close to the borders with Germany and Belgium. The parc surrounding the hotel is also nice and gives good views of the terrace and back of the hotel.
The room has been modernized since my last stay in 2013 and is now absolutely equipped to the standards of the modern traveler with most of the normal amenities one would expect. My room was at the garden-side, lovely peaceful and so I had a great stay there. Breakfast also good and so I'll come back soon in summer :-)
The restaurant is still a bit too classy
Excellent hotel for a weekend away
Maria Von 24/04/2017 09:15Luxurious and spacious interior. Restaurant very good and staff very friendly. Breakfast buffet very generous - one can easily skip lunch with a later wakening up. One can even start the day with a glass of cava!
Small remarks nonetheless: Staff at the reception was professional but quite cold and as if annoyed. With what - not clear.
The cleaning lady enters the room at 10:45 (check-out at 11:00) immediately after knocking but not waiting for a response. We could have been naked...
