Excellent location but the attitude needs adjustment
geneon 28/06/2017 22:02This hotel is always fully booked...gets some small groups and people think it is the only show in town. It is not as I discovered. Communication by email to book was very efficient and helpful to arrange arrival. We spent 2 nights here. Very efficient transfer from parking to hotel and back again and it was most welcome given the streets and steep road up. We got a suite with excellent view of the countryside and it is stunning. It is so nice to be right up there and just go a short distance to the walkway around the top. Room was clean and functional but no style...but thats okay you have the view. We
arrived late but had a reservation for dinner at the hotel terrace...we were on time but
made to feel like we were really putting them out to serve us even though they were open until 10pm and we were there about 9:15. A very surly server who disappeared after awhile. Since she disappeared and we were tired I went to the reception (next to kitchen) to ask for a bottle of water to take to the room and was then given a lecture about how
long all of the staff have worked that day and that he would not get it for me I would have
to go to the kitchen myself. This was Ivan and he was terrible! Breakfast was very nice although eating outside with a view would have been really nice but the selection etc. was good. Most other staff seldom had a greeting for their guests or smiled...one exception is Vedran at the reception who was very nice. Hotel is fine for short stay it would be nice if staff were a bit friendlier.
The only hotel in town!
Boulder11on 28/06/2017 17:42This is a tired hotel, with uninspired staff. Meals on the terrace were very good and the view from the terrace restaurant is great. Unfortunately, although we booked months in advance we were given a small room, essentially without a view -really disappointing! As indicated in other reviews the breakfasts were less than we have experienced almost anywhere else in Croatia or Slovenia. Simply there, simply average. To spend the afternoon, evening, and early morning in Motovun was great, but the hotel just did not make the grade. Given the location, we expected elegance, we got utility.

21DaysAwayon 23/06/2017 22:10Limited places to stay in Motovun so this hotel can get away with being average. I stayed there 2 nights and felt it satisfactory, had a nice pool with a spa, room was clean but overall the hotel is very tired. Restaurant was again, average with better options outside the town wall. Staff were functional but none seemed happy to be there or exert the energy to smile - maybe it was the heat.... but service could be much more friendly and welcoming.

Shari Won 13/06/2017 14:59Stay was part of Rick Steves tour. Quite a hike uphill to hotel. Quaint. Decent airconditioning. Remember to ensure windows close to be able to actuate air. Small bathroom. Decent bed. Could not figure out how to use safe in room. Could hear lovely Klappa practicing in church. Very nice. Lacking for decent coffee. Terrible wifi.
Beautiful location and ambience
primroseryelandon 01/06/2017 06:29Sited on top of the hill in Motovon, this hotel and small village has a magical feeling. Our room was beautiful and spacious, the pool area very nice with a lovely garden area by the town walls. Breakfast was basic but adequate and staff were helpful. Overall a lovely stay
