Literary heaven.... 📚
pidorton 16/04/2017 19:14The plan was to stop off this morning, have some breakfast and then browse some books before leaving for the Presidential palace. The plan changed. When my moto-taxi finally found the place I walked in and was instantly taken by the range of books. It was so exciting to see so many books by African writers as well as European and American. Books were in English and French. I had a lovely breakfast, whilst watching a serene view of Kigali city. I then found two great books and settled myself on the roof terrace where I ended up sitting for much of the day reading. The rain came and it barely disturbed me. Sat outside under the protection of a well constructed bamboo roof I didn't get wet at all. It simply added to the magic and calm of the experience. For the sake of variety of activity I eventually tore myself away, having finished one of the books. I don't doubt that I will be back again for more books, more food and some of the lovely homeware items on sale. This place WILL see me spend too much on this holiday!

Well-furnished Book Store with Nice Rwandan Coffee and Tea
deboraflowerson 23/02/2017 21:31Whenever I visit a city or a country, I try to always visit bookstores, and find authors from that country, or music from that country. The Ikirezi bookstore was a very well-furnished bookstore, and the staff was very knowledgeable. I found Rwandan authors, African authors, and world-renowned ones. There was a good section on the history of the country, the wildlife, the music... and of course a section for educational toys for kids... and the cafe. Overall a good visit to a bookstore.
