Very disappointed
Patrick Son 07/01/2017 13:28No WiFi for a day or two in this location is sort of OK but the entire 7 day stay? not so much. And no effort to remedy or resolve, major hassle when you were figuring on it. Also an issue with hot water, took two cold showers, not fun after a day on the slopes. The staff simply shrugged at both of these issues....
Good and enjoyable stay
Mali0788on 16/03/2015 10:21We stayed in this hotel for a weekend of skiing and we had a good time. The hotel is nice, rooms are clean and cosy. Breakfast is good and keeps you going for the long day on the pistes. The bus stop and the train station are both just around the corner, so it's easy to get to Klosters/Davos ski resort within a few minutes. We had a personal issue and staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful, so we were very happy and would recommend this hotel with a great welcoming to guests to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.
Cosy and convenient hotel in Klosters Dorf
Caroleann94on 23/02/2015 11:39My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Kurhaus for a long weekend skiing. It was our 4th stay in as many years and I wondered if it would be as good as usual now that the restaurant is no longer open for dinner. I needn't have worried. There is a wonderful restaurant at Bargis Gasthaus, a five minute walk up the road, which provides a fantastic dinner, though you need to book a few days in advance as it is very popular. We also ate at the Sporthotel, which is between Klosters Platz and Klosters Dorf, and the Sonne restaurant in Platz.
We stayed in a double room with balcony at the Kurhaus and were very happy with our room, which was warm and clean with a pristine bathroom. The breakfast was a usual skiing one, with boiled eggs, a selection of breads and cheeses, yogurts and fruit.
The staff gave us a warm welcome and we slept well each night despite the close proximity to the railway station.
The main advantage of the Kurhaus, however, is it's convenient position. It is a few steps from the railway station, so very easy to pull your bags off the train and up the short slope to the hotel. Ski hire shop Albeina is right next door, and the Madrisa ski lift is just across the road. The Madrisa ski area is perfect for a weekend's skiing and consists mainly of easy reds and one or two blues. The black run home is more of a tricky red if snow conditions are good, but a bit steep and narrow in places if it's icy. The ski lifts are all T bars on Madrisa, apart from one chair.
If you want to ski in the main Klosters/Davos area, then you can catch the free ski bus (it's just over a mile away) or you may be better off paying a bit more and staying in Klosters Platz.
We had a great time and will return next year.
So little for so much
Adam Bon 13/02/2014 23:26Perhaps due to the Davos WEF but why would a hotel close the restaurant ? Rooms very basic, breakfast simple - hope you like cheese and bread . Hotel is also right near road and rail lines so not sure how the noise would be in summer with windows open. If this was all for 100.00 a night rather than 400 I could understand!
Nice rooms with great service
Alex Gon 30/12/2013 20:56We stayed in the Kurhaus between Christmas and New Year and really enjoyed the stay. First of all was the room very nice and cosy, secondly the service was great of Mrs. Steck and her team and thirdly the breakfast was for us more than what we could expect from a hotel of this category. Even that the hotel has no pool and no sauna the guests have the possibility to go to the Sport Hotel in Klosters, this is a great service, even so that we had no chance to try it out this time due to lack of time.
We had really nothing to complain about and we surely will go back to the Kurhaus like others who are regulars there.
