We experienced an excellent, romantic stay at Hotel l'Ariana ! Thanks to Patricia, owner of the hotel this was a super vacation in October 2015... Easy transfers from to Sicily... Highly recommanded !

We stayed here many years ago and returned because of our past experience. The first visit was in June so the hotel was busier then, and the restaurant open. In April, the season was just beginning so we didn't have the opportunity of eating on the restaurant. We did however, have a room on the balcony which was beyond ideal. Despite the hotel externally looking 'a little tired', it was clean and the staff very friendly and attentive. If and when we return to Salina in the future, we would include Hotel L'Ariana in or experience.

The hotel was on the water's edge with wonderful views and your own private access to the beach below. It was quiet, the rooms were spacious, well serviced and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and every assistance was offered to meet our needs. The superb breakfast was plentiful and very fresh. This 'old-world charm' hotel truly offers a wonderful experience. Thank you L'Ariana

This was the most expensive hotel on our trip, but given the remoteness of the island and that it was not in season, we didn't mind. We stayed 1-3 April. We had a room with a shared terrace and there were some other people using other rooms, who used the terrace a lot; but it wasn't an issue for us. The view of mainland Sicily (including Etna) from our room was spectacular.
We had breakfast in a room near the entrance and it was certainly fine; typical of the breakfasts we had throughout Sicily.
Our room was not large, and the ensuite was cramped with the fairly typical tiny shower cubicle. The toilet was running, and did not always flush properly. It was a minor inconvenience. But the view!
The staff were not readily available as it was off season; but they made every effort to meet our needs; even discovering places for us to have evening meals nearby (as few places were open), and checking that it was suitable.
We travelled to explore my husband's family history and the hotel was close to the ferry and close to the local bus, which is essential for exploring the island.
Next time we travel there, we may stay further up the hill in Rinella or Malfa and later into the season; but only because of greater choices for dining and activities.

We came for a wedding, it was our first trip to italy and we enjoyed it a lot. The hotel is nice, full of character, just a few meters from the a rocky beach. The hydrofoil stop is at 200m from the hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious, we had one with terrace and it was beautiful to have breakfast on the terrace in the morning. The staff was competent and proactive and very helpful. I would reccomend this hotel and we will definitively come back next summer. The island is beautiful and offers tons of opportunity to spend couple of weeks of vacations. It is also at the center of the archipelago so it is a good location to visit the other islands.
