Great Boutique Hotel in Anse Vata
tradescant1on 22/08/2017 09:40Very pleasant hotel with a distinctly boutique, family-run feel. The reception area has an enormous aquarium which is very seductive and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is very close to the Anse Vata Beach with its pleasant seaside promenades and numerous cafes/restaurants. Also a short walk to the water-taxi service to Île aux Canards. The one bedroom apartments are especially spacious and very comfortable and the studios, though smaller, are fine as well.
Initial internet is free (not many mbytes), thereafter you pay for a third-party provider. N'importe! we didn't come to Nouvelle Caledonie for the internet! We also avoided the hotel restaurant for breakfast as it is very expensive for what it provides. There are many food options at the beach or an excellent boulangerie (Atelier Gourmand) just up the road (away from the beach) where you can get any number of tempting baked goods, pre-filled baguettes, etc.
There is a gym and pool (though very small). If you have a car, see if you can book a parking spot ahead of arrival, as these secure parks are limited in number. You can park on the road but it is very busy and often close parking is hard to find.
We would certainly go back.
A happy place to stay
Soizic Gon 09/08/2017 01:41A very warm, friendly and quiet Polynesian atmosphere where everyone feels special. The hotel is wonderfully located at a very short walking distance from the beach, shops, restaurants and convenience stores.
If the pool is not of an Olympic size, it is beautifully set in a lovely garden with luxurious lounge chairs and a discreet corner with a spa.
And...the buffet is highly recommended.
I spent 10 peaceful and happy nights there.

Josephineburrowson 31/07/2017 00:00We had a fantastic stay at Le Lagon. The hotel was lovely and clean with a spa and pool, delicious breakfast and all staff were so friendly. It is located close to Anse Vata beach and the restaurants. Would definitely recommend and stay again in the future.
A very comfortable and enjoyable hotel
gilesgolfon 20/07/2017 06:11Le Lagon Hotel is very well located for visitors like us 'Young Seniors', wanting to spend a relaxing week in the sunshine (away from Melbourne's freezing wintery conditions)
Only a short walk of 200 meters to Anse Vata beach and the many shops and restaurants located nearby whilst it's only a 50 meter walk to one of the best French Patisseries in Noumea, for a lunchtime snack.
The 2 convenience stores also within 50 meters provide all the foodstuff and drinks you may want.
The pool is heated to 29C and is nicely tiered to allow bathers to stretch out and relax in 55cms or swim in 125cms depth.
The suites facing the ocean provide views of the sea and afternoon sunshine.
There are better places to stay
mandmozon 15/07/2017 05:15We stayed here for one night only (in transit between places in NC). Shared a one bedroom - 2 adults and 2 kids. It was definitely a bit squishy as the kids had to share a sofa bed in the lounge room/kitchenette area - but ok for one night.
The positives are that it is in a central location, but I think it is very expensive for what you get.
Prior to this we stayed for 7 nights at Chateau Royale which was loads better value. I think it was about $60 AUD more per night and well worth it. It has been recently renovated, has two full bedrooms, a full kitchenette with stove top and pans (microwave but no oven), beachfront. A little further from main shops but well worth the walk.
The Le Lagon 1 Br room does not have full kitchenette so you basically can't cook anything (only a small fridge and microwave).
