What People are saying

excellent stay

Kirsten2400on 02/08/2017 14:54

We came on bike on our trip around Keysersberg. The friendly staff offered to park our bicycles in the cellar, good service. The room was OK, and with minibar, good for keeping our water cold for the next day. The dinner was planned to a restaurant downtown. The room even had a balcony. The breakfast was also OK, but the coffee was a little too weak.

Average

The rooms are clean, but dated. Both of the two rooms we stayed in had a good sized double and a double sofa bed.

The hotel is relatively easy to access as it is a couple of hundred metres from the historic area which is within easy walking distance. However, if you have a trailer or caravan (I had a large trailer), it's difficult.

There was no air con, and the fridge didn't work in either room. The wifi was poor. The fridge was annoying as I was travelling with young children and needed to keep milk, yoghurts etc fresh........not great for what I assume is a hotel that caters to families, i.e. It's good value if you can fill the room with 4 people, 2 in the bed, 2 on the sofa bed.

If you want to stay in Kayserberg, it's a cost effective choice.

Personally, and with hindsight, I would have chosen a cheaper option in a less popular village. Look at Bergheim for example.

enjoyed our stay

We stayed here as the last stop of an 'inn to inn' hiking tour organized by Horizons d'Alsace. We were assigned to a room in a remote building about a block closer to "downtown". The room had a kitchenette that we didn't use and a nice balcony. Wi-fi worked well. Bathroom was modern and functional. Very convenient location for touring the sites. We really enjoyed wandering around the village. The climb to the top of the castle is well worth the effort for great views.

Ramblers at the Ramparts

rentaquoteon 21/06/2017 23:37

Stayed here for a week in June 2017 on a Ramblers walking holiday. We were given a warm welcome and great service by Christiane and the team. Other British operators using the hotel are Inntravel and Macs Adventure.

The excellent location, accommodation and hospitality make this modern hotel a very good base for exploring Kaysersberg and Alsace.

The only small negatives are the poor wifi in rooms on the ground floor of the main building (for the best signal go to the first floor landing) and the lack of shower curtains in the bathrooms, which means wet floors after showering. Bring your own squeegee!

Very Personable People in a beautiful town

WorldAwaits163on 23/11/2016 02:38

We just returned from 3 nights at Rempart's. We had a great experience. We stayed in the apartment building and it was very clean, quiet and modern. The bed and furniture were comfortable; the towels were nice.

In terms of the location, this hotel is within walking distance of everything in town. We walked to the downtown area for supper and could walk the other beautiful sites too.

The management was very helpful with tips on things to see in town and in the surrounding area. The winery recommended was excellent and the pointer on parking in France and taking the tram into Basel, Switzerland, for example, was truly appreciated.

This hotel is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in not only because of the quality and value but mainly for the personable, human touch of the management and staff.

We would stay here again and indeed are anticipating returning to enjoy the Christmas/ski season, hopefully within a few years.
