Fantastic view, but has some issues.

I stayed here in the last week of May. The lake facing room with the balcony had a stunning and beautiful view of lake Brienz and snow covered mountains in the background, and made the stay memorable. However, the hotel itself is nearly twenty minutes uphill walk from the station. People, especially elderly, without private vehicle would find it difficult to access the hotel. The location is not convenient for venturing frequently out of the hotel. The taxi from the station to the hotel is by booking on the phone and may take time. The hotel did not offer shuttle service from the station. The wi fi was not available in the room. No one helped with the luggage. ( Even though the board outside mentions that assistance for luggage is available on request.) The room does not have phone, which was very surprising. There is no room service. Like many other three star hotels in Europe, this one does not provide kettle/ tea or coffee making machine in the room.
Despite these issues, the view from the room made the stay worthwhile. The hotel has a good terrace restaurants with decent food and superb view.But please reconsider, if you do not have a private vehicle and have health issues.

Beautiful location

The hotel's location is simply amazing and worth the stay. Staff very helpful. Rooms were decorated simply and breakfast was basic but the views of the lake are so beautiful and the real attraction here.

New Year's Holiday

We booked for 5 nights B&B and for the New Year's Eve Gala Dinner. On our arrival we were met at the railway station and brought to the hotel. Hotel Lindenhof is an old family business of wood construction consisting of a main building and an annexe and is situated in an impressive park. Our standard room was comfortable and well appointed, overlooking the lake and mountains beyond. Missing was only a full length mirror for ladies dressing. The two evening meals we had from the à la carte menu were delicious and the 5 course New Years' Gala dinner with live alpine musik was very much enjoyed. We made extensive use of the indoor swimmimg pool and sauna facilities, which were welcome after days of hiking in the region. The staff and management were friendly and cooperative. We were taken to the station on departure having thoroughly enjoyed our short vacation. Certainly a must for next years trip!

Rustic style, worth the visit

We stayed one night here. Rooms are fairly basic, country style but comfortable and warm. We upgraded to a room with a balcony and a magnificent view of the lake, recommended. No wifi in the rooms is a let-down these days.
Excellent dinner and breakfast, local produce and generous servings. Manager and staff very helpful. We enjoyed it for an overnight stop.

Average room, No wifi in room and have you to go out of the room to lobby or parking to check your mail and quit cold and raining to go out.

We had booked for mountain train trip with room reservation but coupon was not provided on arrival and next day we had walk back to hotel from train station to collect the coupon.
