Friendly and quiet accommodation in pretty Pescocostanzo
Skyepiloton 12/10/2014 08:18We spent one night at Garni Lo Chalet on our way through Abruzzo on our recent trip to Europe. I had booked the accommodation through booking.com and didn't realise at the time that English wasn't listed as a language, however I explained that I didn't speak Italian in my email about our arrival time, and Lo Chalet made sure that someone with a bit of English was there to greet us.
Our room at Lo Chalet was spacious and clean and perfect for a night's stay. The rooms are quiet however the hotel isn't far from the centre of town. Breakfast was Italian-style with fresh cakes and pastries as well as a few other options including coffee from a proper machine. The staff were lovely and friendly.
In general not a lot of people speak English in these parts and we visited in off season, however we had fun conversing with the locals via our Lonely Planet fast talk Italian book at a local cafe and wine bar, and our host also gave us a recommendation for a lovely restaurant nearby with English-speaking staff for dinner.
We had a lovely stay. Pescocostanzo is a pretty town, refreshingly quiet in September compared to other parts of Italy.
