Central location, ok to stay but really needs renovation
TomSirkon 18/03/2017 08:40Ok service. Rooms are clean but really need renovation. Centrally located. Close to the main temple and Bodhgaya tree, Restaurant was most of the time closed during our stay. Some photos on diverse website or of the nearby hotel Mahayana, which is a bigger place, probably more expensive but defenitely nicer. Staff is friendly and helpful
Religious trip!
karma-gunz21on 10/03/2016 02:59This is the best hotel in bodhgaya anyone visiting bothgaya for the first time, safe and secure. Otherwise, bodhgaya can be a little scary if u stay in a meagre hotels. Rooms are spacious and clean and food is okay.
Note: Prior booking is recommended since most of the rooms would already have been booked.
Friendly and helpful
Ian Son 27/12/2015 11:10We were warmly greeted at 10.30pm after a long drive.
The hotel was quiet and very central, literally five minutes walk from the Mahabodhi Temple, also close to stalls and restaurants. The food was good and the prices were reasonable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would visit again.
Outdated Hotel
Tehani Don 31/08/2015 08:29To be honest, I'm not sure you'll find much better hotels than this one in Bodhgaya, unless you're going for the top of the line hotels. The hotel is old (smells old). The internet that we were promised never actually worked. The power went on and off all night long. Our room didn't have a window, so it was very dark. We ate dinner at the hotel, but weren't impressed. We actually skipped eating our free breakfast. We also went on off season, so maybe that had something to do with the lack of quality. We didn't really interact with the staff, so I don't have anything to say about them. Bodhgaya in general is old and dirty, so be prepared!
However, it is about a 1 minute walk to the Mahabodi Temple, so that's one plus side!
Dalai Lama's Suite
KaiT1972on 11/08/2015 13:07As we came to watch kagyu mönlam, there was only one room left- a very nice and big room- a suite. The whole service and the all time friendly and funny people at the reception gave us a good time. The whole hotel was clean and well managed. A nice episoder: After a few days we got the information by an old monk that in our suite the Dalai Lama used to live in - since then we slept even better 😊
