My Third visit to Mall palace

I have already stayed twice at Hotel Mall Palace but the experience was sort of Okay. But this time after the renovation of Hotel it was wonderful.

Rooms - Rooms were quite spacious with beautiful balcony offering doon valley view. Mattress was better this time.

Bathroom- Bathrooms are now big and clean.

Food - Earlier food here not used to be good but now they have improved a lot. Food was yummy.

Parking - Parking facility is limited considering its a hill area.

Staff - Staff was polite.

They have almost tripled their tariff rates but then it is worth it now.

Good budget hotel on Mall Road

We stayed there for 2 nights in Oct 2017 with my family. It is a good hotel in mid range budget. Rooms with private balconies are good enough with nice view of the dehradhun valley. I booked the rooms for around 1100/- INR per night. Which is quite cheap. There are some areas where modification needed as this is a old hotel, but rooms are clean with all the modern facilities. The best part of this hotel is the location. It's on the mall road. But if you are having more luggage, it's difficult to enter the hotel as it is bit higher than the road. In that case you can call the reception person and ask for some one to carry your luggage. Fooding is available at the hotel, but they don't have much varieties, and the restaurant use to close down earlier at night by 8:00 pm in the evening. I will recommend this hotel for solo family travelers who need a perfect location within the budget.

EXCELLENT LOCATION....v, centrally located on the MALL ROAD..IF thats not enough its almost opp the rixa stand as well as the ropeway.EXCELLENT VIEW...the balcony overlooks the DOON VALLEY. COMFY ..BEDS N BATHROOMS weLL EQUIPPED.with an excellent shower with hot water throughout the day.....wat more cud one ask
for..MR. PRAVIN the manager was also v, helpful n friendly....staff also good.

Our 2 day stay in this hotel was very comfortable. Even in May, Mussoorie remains pleasantly cool. Ours wasn't an AC room, and honestly just a fan was sufficient for us. It turns cold in the evening. The bathrooms have 24-hour hot water supply. The rooms are very clean, spacious and well maintained. The beds have comforters to keep you warm and snug. We didn't eat at their restaurant since we wanted to explore the restaurants in the vicinity (and there are many!)
Once you get to Gandhi Chowk, you will have to take a hand pulled rickshaw which will take you (and your luggage) to the hotel. Vehicles aren't allowed past Gandhi Chowk. The hotel has a flight of stairs to the reception. You might want to hire help to take your luggage up the stairs. I think they have a lift, but it was under renovation at the time of our visit. Their staff is very helpful. You will have to call Housekeeping to clean your room, otherwise they won't come on their own (which is fine). Overall a pleasant stay!
