Quiet, central location
TazzieDevilson 03/06/2017 08:22We chose Hotel Mancino because of reviews mentioning its quiet location, and were not disappointed. Our room had thick panned windows, which completely blocked out all but the noisiest sirens of passing police cars / ambulances, and the walls were thick and solid. The design of the room was modern, bed comfortable with good linens. After staying in two different locations during our trip to Rome, and having spent time roaming around the city, on balance we felt Hotel Mancino's close proximity to many of Rome's main sights made it the best choice. Overall the hotel is atmospheric, the breakfast typical for Italy (cold selections only). The front desk staff were very helpful and welcoming but understated. Only downsides were lack of iron in the room and no ironing facilities in the hotel.
Superb Location
FredandBrendaon 23/05/2017 23:24First let me say that whoever took the photograph displayed on the official web site should receive an award as the hotel is located in quite a dingy narrow lane and looks nothing like the photo, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if what is displayed is an artist impression; however that's all the negatives.
Inside the hotel is modern, bright, spotlessly clean and the room was well appointed with a good sized bathroom, fantastic walk in shower, room safe and poorly stocked mini bar which left lots of room to chill your own drinks.
The breakfast was very limited with only cereal, fruit and pastries but because we booked bed and breakfast, we got 24 hour unlimited access to the coffee machine situated just off reception.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel very much at home, especially Darryl who welcomed us and gave us lots of information and advice and Simone who took lots of time to find us alternative accommodation for the weekend as Mancini 12 was fully booked.
The hotel couldn't be better located as it is only a 2 minute walk to the beautiful Victor Emmanuel Monument, 10 minute walk to The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and The Coliseum and Forum, 2 minutes to the nearest Metro Station and 5 minutes by taxi to The Vatican.
The hotel is situated just round the corner from Via del Corso, one of the main shopping streets in Rome, there was no shortage of places to eat and drink but be careful and always check the price BEFORE you sit down as we got ripped off in Antica Roma Café just round the corner from the hotel where we were charged 11 euros for two 500ml bottles of Coke light.
We had a fantastic time sightseeing in Rome on this our first visit to the city and wouldn't hesitate to book Hotel Mancino 12 if returning in the future.
Hidden Gem in the Heart of Rome
Joshua Won 21/05/2017 20:36Our stay here was exceptional. The hotel is a short walk from the Colosseum, Trevi fountain, and pretty much anything else you will want to see on your trip. The complimentary breakfast was unexpected and the staff was courteous. Room was much larger than expected and had ample closet space and a nicely appointed bathroom. Rain head shower with handheld was amaze.
Wonderful Hotel
Christine Con 20/05/2017 10:58This hotel is in the heart of everything and yet tucked away in a peaceful and quiet spot. It is walking distance to many of the major sights which was a pleasure. The Hotel is immaculate, modern and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included and had a very nice selection of cereal, yogurt and pastries. My husband and I enjoyed our stay immensely and will be recommending the Hotel to our friends for their fall trip and would certainly return. Hands down a great place to stay.
Roman Holiday
ChellArtseeworldon 20/05/2017 00:18Location: Amazing! The location of this hotel is very central, close to all major sights, including the Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum & Colosseum. It is down a small street off of a very busy street, where it is easy to catch a taxi, or find a restaurant nearby to grab something quickly.
Hotel: The hotel itself is very small & modern. It is not grand by any means, but has the feeling of a small boutique hotel instead. Coffee in the lobby is available 24/7 & the front desk is helpful with recommendations & requests.
Rooms: Rooms are small & rather dark, as the hotel is very close to buildings on all sides. However, they are very clean & the bed & shower were very comfortable. The wifi was pretty bad in our room & we had to get a 2nd code, as the 1st one only worked with one device.
Overall: This is a perfect stay for a night or two to enjoy Rome from a very central & convenient location!
