friendly stay

the hotel must have seen better times. the old grandeur is somewhat in decay. Nevertheless I had an excellent room, not too quiet, and a well assorted breakfast. the other guest were apparently also on a business trip.

Overnight stop

This was just a stop over en route to Calais. The service at reception was very good. This was the only aspect of service that we encountered as we didn't eat in the hotel or have breakfast there the following morning. Room was small but adequate for an overnight stay. Overall decor was tired and in need of refurbishment. Hotel is however excellently positioned as it is right in the centre of town within 100 metres of the chateau. There are loads of bars, restaurants and umpteen patisserie and chocolatier shops within 2 minutes walk. There is underground parking within 100 metres and you get a discounted rate of 12 Euro for 24 hours from the hotel.

Bad experience at Hotel Napoleon in Fontainebleau

Very close to the Palais of Fontainebleau, excellent location. A Public Parking is very close to the hotel and it's safe to leave our beings inside the car, very handy.
Rooms are small , double bed is small and the mattress is awful , very poor quality.
Found spiders in our bed the first night.
They have only an mobile air conditioning that is very noisy and disturbing during the night . We didn't sleep properly after so many hours driving.
Carpet and common areas very dirt.
Sofas and chairs at reception so old and dirt , we could sit and enjoy . Also the lobby was so hot !!! Couldn't stay over there.
Old decoration , not signals of maintenance .
Zero hospitality with one exception : the Spanish receptionist Geme , that was wonderful , so professional , so polite , classy and sweet with us.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience spending 2 days at this hotel !
Never again !

Great position

A small but adequate room with a good bathroom in a fabulous position 50 metres from the entrance of the Fountainebleu Chateau. Parking just metres away which the hotel validates will cost 12 euro for 24 hours. In the heart of the city surrounded by lively bars, cafes and eateries. Friendly and helpful staff. would stay again.

Centrally located

The Hotel Napoleon was selected for its location near the Chateau Fontainebleau. The room was quite small but clean and comfortable. The air conditioner was a standing-floor model with an exhaust hose to the outside; the unit could be moved to redirect the air (it was blowing directly onto the bed) but the hose had to be reattached numerous times. The breakfast was nice with the “standard” selection of sliced meats, cheeses and pastries/breads; the coffee was fresh brewed and very good, not the typical individual-serve machine dispenser. The hotel staff was among the friendliest on our vacation and they provided a great luggage storage area to leave items after check-out so we could tour the Chateau. Wifi was very poor. Numerous outdoor restaurants and shopping locations are in close proximity.
