Hotel now turned into yoga school
Chetan_Bhadraon 24/02/2017 14:49I stayed there couple of times in previous years. When I tried to get a room this time (Feb 2017), they proudly announced that they are no more a hotel but Rishikul Yogshala - which means that now only yoga students can stay there.
Rooms are quite small and table&chairs were almost blocking my way to the balcony. Some balconies are shared between two rooms, some are private - but still you end up sharing them with monkeys... Nice view though, green fields and hills.
In February it was seriously cold and windy in the nights, had to sleep with my hoodie on.
Amazing place, amazing people, amazing course!
pries2015on 04/07/2016 22:56We had an amazing time in this idyllic place! Especially the people are so sweet, nice and professional! We really felt at home. The yoga lessons were very professional and tough. We really have the feeling we learned something! KRISHNA you are the best. You are an amazing yoga teacher! Thank you so much. The teoretical lessons were also very interesting. The teachers know a lot! They can explain very good and they take the time! Thank you DEEPA NEGI MIRA. You are so kind and helpful! And thank you KAVITA HANGARGI. you are so sweet. You really looked at us and looked through us. You have no idea how much you helped me 'Priscilla'! Thank you so much!
And also thank you for everything SUSHIL BALONI. You were always ready to answer any question.
We deffinitly want to come back again....in this positive, relaxing and spiritual place!
Best Yoga Programme in Rishikesh @ Ajarya Yoga Academy
inrecoveryon 12/02/2016 09:01The rooms offer a brilliant view of the Shivalik ranges. I have had an opportunity to look out on to the Himalayas from each room here on all the floors. We can view Kunjapuri Devi or the Goddess' temple sitting atop a peak on the Western side. The view is awe-inspiring with tall mountains and green farms.
The rooms are adequate and the service is available on demand for any of your requirements.
What surprised me was the quality of Yoga and Ayurveda on offer. Very high quality. The yoga teachers are academically qualified having completed their Masters in Yoga!! Ajarya Yoga Academy is housed inside this hotel and from experience, I can say it is as good as it gets!
The food served at NK was sattvic and suite my palate quite well.
All in all, peaceful place to be!
Not great
Louise7890on 08/12/2015 02:26Quite expensive compared to other places in Rishikesh, 600 RPS and they charged 100 a day for wifi. The staff weren't very welcoming or friendly. The view from the balcony was lovely but be warned if you stay in December the evenings are cold and most of the rooms are north facing so get no sun light, welcome in the summer but made it v cold in winter. Plus there was a 4 cm gap under the balcony door and only mesh over the opposit door so a howling gale ran through the room.
Decent Rooms, Terrible Service
Holly Lon 24/10/2015 06:00The new hotel beside Narayana Kunj has much nicer rooms so ask for that hotel. The staff are clearly not happy to be working there and avoid the food. It is the worst in the city. Both the spa and Ojashvi yoga are rip offs and will take your money then not complete what the course states it is offered. A printout of what you are to learn daily? They won't bother once you have paid them. Refunds? No, they keep every cent. Avoid these centres and safe yourself the hassle. I emailed the hotel to discuss my experience and have yet to hear back, they simply just don't care.
