Good value
Bomohon 05/08/2017 02:26Great location and good value. Friendly and helpful service even allowing baggage storage before check in. Bed only just big enough for 2 and bathroom extremely small. Room very small but ok for price and one night only.
Great location!
pengboonon 09/06/2017 10:19Location is just a short walk from the main train station, which has a small shopping mall. Walking distance to catle and many F&B options. Hotel and room were clean and hospitable.
Room is expectatedly small. Bathroom is very small, you may hit the ceiling if you are tall enough. However, nice public bath to relax in on the 7th floor.
My only complaint is the curtains do not completely "blackout" the window thus was woken up by early summer sunrise with the bed facing the window.
Good location but extremely small
Yair Son 13/10/2016 23:46The hotel is nice and clean and has good location has located close to the central train station and walking distance from the castle, but the rooms are extremely small even compared to japanese norms.
Other than that no complaints.
Great price and location
Hum4n_Trafficon 10/10/2016 14:14This hotel is definitely one of those “best bang for buck” gems and it really is close to the station. We actually walked right past it thinking it was further along having only power walked for about a minute (it was raining), so as with being this close to any major Japanese station, you have access to a whole bunch of mod cons ie. food, shopping and amenities. We didn’t bother with the hotel’s in house food service because of this, instead going with the bakeries, convenience stores and one restaurant in particular just outside the station that was so good and great valued that we ate there every day :D *
Being half way through our trip the clean underwear situation was getting critical so it was good to have washing machines and dryers on hand. Detergent (and other personal amenities) are available from reception. The double room was on the smaller side even by Japanese standards but on par for a Japanese business style hotel, though still –just- enough room to have two suitcases open and room to get by them.
Matsumoto is mostly flat (contrasting to its mountainous surrounds) so its an easy walk/ride to the major attractions like the castle and the timepiece museum. There is also a large post office a couple blocks away if you need to get cash out.
We used Matsumoto as a jump off point for The Alps/snow corridor so having a close proximity to the station for those early morning starts was a big plus. The station also has direct services all the way back to Shinjuku which was also very handy.
Very pleased with our stay, wouldn’t hesitate to choose here again.
* - If you want to check it out too, turn right out of the station (don’t head out to the road) follow the row of shops, past the small fence there is a wide shop front with a big colourful sign with pictures of food. Its also next door to an ice cream shop that has a big plastic light up ice cream out the front. The restaurant has combo deals lunch specials and speedy service which was also handy.
Convenient location, small but comfortable
LATyrrellon 03/09/2016 13:30Booked this at the last minute when we realised we had accidentally got our accommodation on the way to the Alpine route totally wrong.
Was perfectly suited for what we needed.
V convenient for a place to rest your head: clean, comfortable, great location (short walk to castle and restaurants, right by station)
