Great price, great location...
clanwilsonon 20/08/2017 13:52My two daughters, sister-in-law, and I stayed at the Newton last year and liked it so much that we're staying there again this December. I love the upper west side, and even though I always see a lot of shows, I stay there often. As long as your hotel is close to the subway, it's convenient to get to midtown. The Newton is right by the subway, so an express train will get you to midtown in ten minutes.
The hotel is in a good neighborhood with lots of options for restaurants and shops.
Our two queen room was upgraded to a junior suite upon check in, so we enjoyed the extra space. I believe all rooms have microwaves and fridges. Those amenities were big pluses for us.
The staff was friendly and certainly affected my decision to stay there again.
The Newton is the best priced option for a clean and comfortable place to stay on the upper west side. I highly recommend it.
Great value for money!
bannerman2017on 18/08/2017 14:10My boyfriend and I stayed here in August 2017 in a double room. The room itself was quite small but you get what you pay for. Other than that I could not fault the hotel! The staff were very approachable and helpful (including maids). Our room was always clean. The hotel location is quite far away from Times Square and other popular areas of NYC but there was a subway at either side of the hotel. Lots of cafes, restuarants and bars near by too! Central Park is only a 5-10minute walk from the hotel. Overall, I could not fault it:)

Melody Kon 12/08/2017 16:12Hotel is very clean and in a quieter neighborhood. Many great restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Museum of Natural History is easy to get to from this location. Staff is very accommodating. The only downside was when we made some changes in our plans we were given a room that had a shared bathroom-in the hall, had to use a key. It turned out that we weren't sharing with anyone. There are rooms which have single bathrooms, though. I must say the bathroom was spotless. Room was small but had a fridge and a microwave. If I have a reason to go to NYC again, I will definitely be looking at this hotel first.
Safe Spot
on 07/08/2017 19:17We stayed here for two nights in a queen room. Although hotel isn't modern or luxurious, it is a safe and spacious and is somewhere to sleep. Fantastic location to Subway, Central Park and food/coffee
Disppointing
Ozzleson 02/08/2017 13:26Although the price was right and the location was convenient, the hotel and especially the room had a very musty nasty smell. The air conditioning unit was so loud it prevented me from sleeping. The staff was nothing exceptional..found hairs in the tub. Had to pay to use computers in lobby. Elevator was broken one day. Would not return.
