Staff pleasant, approachable and helpful. That should be taken as read of course.
Room 207 - a double, small and with an awkwardly shaped bathroom. A bit of mildew - a common problem with enclosed damp places. Awkward for staff to manage.
Ordinary but OK for the money. After all, most of the time you are here, your eyes are likely to be closed.

Good value hotel, very clean and good dining area for breakfast. Our room was small but adequate and overlooked the main road towards the metro. There was traffic noise with the window-door to the street open but this seemed double glazed and with the door shut and curtains drawn it cut out the noise almost completely. Good breakfast selection, cold buffet but also a toaster and eggs to boil (self service) which was a nice touch. In good weather you could sit outside on the terrace but a bit too cold for this in November when we stayed.
Reception very friendly and spoke English. Well placed for Gare du Nord, walk from station along Rue Lafayette for about 10 minutes until you get to Louis Blanc Station.

Check in was very smooth and the lady on reception was very polite and friendly. The breakfast room is very nice. SO MANY VEG OPTIONS! Spacious and bright, with a nice little outside terrace. The breakfast itself is continental. Croissants, pain au chocolate, cheese, ham etc. Enough to get you started for the day. Breakfast staff were very friendly. There is a metro station located opposite the hotel. Line 7. This will get you directly into the centre in about 15 mins. All very easy.

Stayed at the Louis Blanc Hotel for 3 nights, the hotel itself is in a great location and a short metro ride to most places of interest! The Louis Blanc area itself doesn't have much to offer sadly apart from a couple of shops/restaurants. The staff are friendly but you hardly see them and on a number of occasions the reception desk was empty... The housekeeping staff are wonderful and very helpful!
My only complaint would be that I had to pay over 55 Euros to keep the room on for an extra couple of hours as my flight wasn't until the late evening..... After I had paid this, I was later told that it was so expensive due to the fact I'd been charged for a whole extra night as housekeeping wouldn't have the chance to clean it before the next day. Which I find ridiculous......
Great Hotel, Central and Great Value for Money

I booked this through Groupon for two nights, I had a few issues prior to arriving in Paris with Groupon to the fact that the hotel didn't know of any reservation made by myself. Even though I followed what the instructions were from Groupon. Anyhow, I was getting concerned so I contacted the hotel directly to confirm the bookings and spoke to one person who didn't know anything of the booking and then made sure all went through online (which I had confirmation) so rung again then they finally confirmed we had a reservation. We finally arrived at the hotel, great location right opposite the metro (Main Line) and lots of little shops, restaurants as well. Went to check in and what a surprise they didn't have us on the system BUT I printed off all confirmation (lucky I did) and they sorted it all out for us. Very helpful and friendly service. The hotel was clean and tidy, the room was basic but was a wonderful position, we had a lovely balcony over looking the streets which had a table and chairs outside too. The bed was comfortable and no issues with house keeping. I am a Ceoliac (Gluten Free) and they also accommodated for that once I had notified reception the previous evening before breakfast. A wonderful breakfast included (even with me being awkward) and very pleasant to sit outside on the decking. Overall, a great place to stay for a weekend away, couldn't recommend it more as it was a great deal we had through groupon, although no fault of the hotel problems with booking/reservation so I would strongly advise any deals with them make sure you print off all documentation and confirmation emails.
