A suitable place for budget travelers
gino5102015on 02/12/2016 18:18I spent 7 days in Berlin for holidays on a budget. Hotel Sickinger Hof is a reasonably-priced pension house that really suited my needs in this fantastic city. Although it has no en-suite bathrooms and toilets, it's okay because guests rarely use them at the same time, at least in my experience. Bathrooms have hot water. There is breakfast that consist of hard boiled egg, bread, cheese, butter, jams, salami, coffee and juice. The rooms are heated and sheets are clean. If I need to wash clothes, they offer cleaning services for EUR5.00 but during my stay, the dryer was not working, so, I dried them using the room heater. The staff are friendly. I get to keep the room keys so I did not have to get it from the front desk every time I come back to the hotel. They have good WiFi connection, too. It is 2-minute walking distance from the train and bus stations. It is also 10-minutes away to the TXL airport by bus. My stay there was well worth the price.
Decent place
Jeff Con 15/03/2016 18:04this was a very plain hotel in a very average area of the city (maybe even slightly below average) The receptionist couldn't speak any english but was kind and helpful. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The S-bahn metro is very close by. My room was quite loud in the early morning next to a busy road.
Real good place for tourists
Alan Mon 11/07/2015 22:47This hotel has an attraction apart.
it´s called remy. This guy will make you feel at home and wil give you all tips to have a wonderful trip. It´s like having a local friend.
This hotel is located really near of a train station. It´s not the luxury but is more than enough for all young tourists. The breackfast is enough to give you energy to explore the city and the rooms are clean and the hot water is a reality.
The room is a little small, but i was using it only to sleep.
i recomend this place. The cost benefit is good and i would be back.
Cheap, clean, old, small rooms, but price worthy.
Peter Hon 31/07/2013 09:28It's a cheap hotel with small rooms. I had never seen such a small bathroom, it was 3 square meters. It is not too far from the center of town and the bus connections are good. They serve a decent breakfast. There are a lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood (Arema, Dicker Engel).
All in all it's price worthy.
I liked it here
Greg Ton 03/07/2013 01:06I stayed here for a week, it was basic, white walls, now views but cheap. opposite is a 24 hr bar and kebab shop, next door is a lovely bakery open 6am til 8pm daily that is very cheap and good quality, there is a also a large alcohol shop that sells absolutely everything alcoholic and not expensive either. everything is closed Sunday but there is a petrol station nearby that has supplies. there aren't much choices on the TV for English speaking people (only bbc world) so I brought a dvd player and connected it to the TV. id recommend the en-suite room for privacy and convenience. I travelled with my sister, I didn't feel unsafe or have any problems, there is a bus stop and s-bahn station literally 20 footsteps outside which was worth so much in the way of convenience and ease. the staff were a Bulgarian male in the day(who didn't speak much German) and a Russian female in the evenings. they were very friendly and helpful, even ordering us takeaways on Sundays when everything was closed. it is in a poor area and it is basic but for the low price and convenience of its location it is well worth it. breakfast was nice too, you could always ask staff for more food
