Badly needs upgradinf
Peppy Con 07/08/2017 17:04This was the worst hotel on my recent tour of Central America. The air con was old and incredibly noisy. Rooms were dark and very dated, paint peeling off the walls. The bathroom was ok, water was warm and ok pressure.
The staff were friendly, wifi ok and the view over the lake was amazing, but this was not enough to redeem the downsides in the room. A deep clean and freshen up is overdue!
Hotel luxury for hostel price

(+) Possibly the best bed in Guatemala, A/C from 8-8, Pool and fantastic location on the waterfront with amazing views and patio area. 1PM late checkout.
(-) No self catering or real social area albeit the patio is great to chill out but it's not a 'meet' people hostel. Dorm is also super cramped but the big lockers help (not really an issue anyway).
Everyone wants to stay at Los Amigos but if you can't definitely stay here, or stay and party at Amigos anyway! Definitely recommend!
Extra: Definitely DON'T use Travel Agency Reino Kan Mirador out the rear entrance on the right across the road. They are bait and switch liars and cheats who then become aggressive and abusive when challenged.
DO: Stay at Hotel Peten.
DON'T: Anything with Travel Agency Reino Kan Mirador.
Simple room. Great view of lake
Stmphotoson 21/07/2017 17:23Had a room facing the lake which was nice. Room was clean. Simple. Ac worked great. Wifi was weak in room had to go outside room or in Lobby to connect. Hotel has individual safe boxes for guests in front office which was really nice.

Jen Hon 19/07/2017 04:35We loved staying here. We stayed in the new dorm rooms. Big comfy clean beds and each one has a personal light & outlets! Great location, the pool is awesome & amazing mojitos for happy hour. The staff is awesome and speak good English if you need! Definitely recommend for backpackers wanting the hotel experience without breaking the bank.
Nice View of the Lake
Ashante Hon 16/07/2017 07:53I was here for only one night; however, it was nice. My view was of the waterfront. I had a chance to watch the sunset in the evening. The room was comfortable with nice beds and hot water for a shower. Also, the hotel is near amazing nightlife as well. So, there is quite a bit to do at any time of night.
