Hotel President, one night only, passing through Patna
tommaseoon 10/03/2017 12:16It was one overnight stay in Patna on our way to Bodhgaya. According to all reliable sources, it is not recommended to stay in Patna for longer than the time required to visit the Museum. Unfortunately we could not even take advantage of the only attraction of a city (whose appearance resembles an urban center after a bombing, a work in progress underneath the fly over of a highway under construction that has gutted the main street for its entire length) because we arrived on Sunday and on Mondays the Museum is closed. Of the Hotel President should be said at its advantage that it is not situated under the fly over but in a quiet street and the staff is quite helpful. Even if we did not expect much from the room, we were surprised it had not been dustied (the cupboard was extremely dusty) and the bathroom was in a very poor condition. Instead of a window, the room boasts a glass panel covered by a curtain.
THE HOTEL MANAGER: After all the rigmarole of taking our photographs and fingerprints a number of times, we would have imagine a more helpful attitude of the manager; when we left the Hotel for the train station and realized that a vital medical aid had remained in the bathroom. Immediately we wrote to him explaining how badly we needed the medical aid and asking to courier the object (at our expenses) to our nex stops, still in India, still quite close to Patna. The manager replied a couple of times with constantly negative mails and eventually did not reply any longer.
Traditional Hospitality , Modern Rooms
GuwahatiShekaron 31/01/2017 18:21Visited Patna almost after a decade . I stayed in this Property for 3 Nights . 4 Things I liked in this Hotel . 1) Very nice Hospitality 2 ) Great tasty food 3) Modern & Spacious Rooms with a Balcony
4) Centrally located & near to Patna Central Mall
For the price you pay , I think it's worth
Suggestions -- Change the Doormat in Entry gate & Elevator
One can keep Plants in the staircase & in the Room balcony
Lobby -- Need to look much smarter than the Present old Look
Thanks to the entire staff for making my stay great
Functionally good emotionally torturing-Courtesy of OYO
gurpreithon 06/01/2017 08:14You will love the fact that the hotel is 100 steps away from Central mall...it's just that you will have to hop, skip and jump over some piles of garbage(it's like living in wadgaonsheri and saying you live in kalyani nagar in Pune;)).For what you paid you can and should take that I believe(even our cab driver had a tear roll down his right cheek when he dropped and saw us off).
You will love the fact that you got a good deal on Oyo rooms where you paid 1900 INR for a night's stay...it's just that you will have to manage your palpitations when you see that the same room rate is available for INR 1200 on the day you check in(it's an Oyo premium listed property- pay for double, get one towel, and no Oyo Kit;)-feels like luxury camping).
You will love the fact that the staff is warm and friendly and lights up when you tip them....it's just that the front desk will ask you to vacate the room at 1130 AM(against checkout at 12 PM) as stated, you will have a free opportunity to negotiate for extra 15 mins(despite that you checked in a day ago at 4 pm). They will also throw in a blame game spectacle among three front staff members(all look like owners) compliments of Hotel President.
You will love the fact that there is a jaguar fitted tap, a heater, a samsung tv, a bed with a good mattress...if you are ok with crazy no. of cigarette butts in the balcony, only slum views, smelling mattresses sprawled in the hallway. But "hey! Don't complain you paid for the room right!"
Finally, OYO rooms will disappear after raising the complaint with them. They are busy raising funds you see(very important, can't disturb them:)).
P.S. You will come home and thank yourself for not recommending Oyo stays to your other relatives who were visiting Patna during religious celebration(when OYO called repetitively said that the tent city at Patna Sahib was a nightmare and requested we suggest our friends to choose oyo, and we found out quite the contrary when we visited the tent city).
So dear Oyo and Hotel President...au revoir...never at The President and Oyo rates and promises will be compared with other players before making a trust(not anymore) based decision
Clean and quite
