What People are saying

Nice but a little tired

Bunny Hon 16/08/2017 20:02

I think the hotel is nice but not a four seasons or equivalant 5 star hotel, the rooms are functional but a little i old inside and outside. We have a suite and view of the sea but we have to stand up to see the sea.

The plaza area is nice for drinks but let me tell you they are a little on the expensive side. They have 4 pools and the Nobu adults pool is the best but come on 16 euros for two small bottles of water.

The staff are nice enough but not snappy enough for a 5 star hotel.

I think the issue is that they don't have lots of competition and therefore they can charge top dollar without having to offer the best in rooms and facilities. Some of the sun beds have been around for 10 years and definitely need changing.

Speaks some money and upgrade the interior of the rooms and get your stars back

A very good spot in Marbella

Dubai-trotters-5on 16/08/2017 14:58

Rooms and restaurants are high quality level (Rooms are really nice, bathrooms awesome).
Service is 5 stars level wich is pretty seldom in Spain.
The access to the Beach is very convenient.
Eventhough our stay was almost perfect, let's highlight that you have to pay for tennis court 45€/h despite tennis club is part of the hotel and that is likely challenging to get a table in one of the very good restaurants part of the resort for dîner.
Very nice stay anyway with very nice staff.
Thank you, we will be back.

Disappointing part of our Spain trip

on 10/08/2017 19:31

We are disappointed so far with the accommodations and the service as it hasn't lived up to the reviews or the experiences we have had with other 5-star beach resorts across the globe (Jade Mountain - St.Lucia; Hotel Mousai PV, Cambridge Beaches, Bermuda). Perhaps there are different grades of "5" that we didn't know about?

Check in was a hurried, crowded, mass production, not unlike a roadside motel.
Upon arrival to our room, we had to call maintenance to fix the broken air conditioning and the bathroom door that was stuck open in our "newly decorated and renovated room". While waiting for maintenance, we had to finish cleaning the room from the last guest (removing stickers, clothing tags, and rinsing out the sinks with toothpaste). We were also told the gym was open, for which we were looking forward to getting a workout in after 7 days without a gym at other hotels in Spain, and we walked over and they said it was closed for the Michael Bolton concert (we didn't know he was even still a "thing" to draw a populous to a private resort). And, the gym doesn't open until 8am - so if you are an early riser or would like to get a workout in before breakfast and crossing your fingers to get a beach or pool chair thereafter, you are out of luck. Want ice? Not sure where to get it...and bring your own water because a normal bottle is 5 euro.

After just that first couple of hours, I would not be surprised if we uncover additional experiences that question the resort's ability to be buttoned up like most 5 Stars are. Time will tell. We are hoping that after the concert, the resort settles in a bit and can offer its chance at living up to the 5 Star service and facilities it boasts. But so far, we regret making this part of our overall Spain experience and cannot wait to get on the road again.

Puento romano resort

Loved Puento Romano resort! Its an absolutely stunning hotel with amazing service, excellent facilities and great restaurants! The vibe is super cool and perfect for couples or families!! You don't really need to leave the hotel as its location is beautiful right on the beach and there is so much to do for everyone!!

Not there yet...

Writing this while waiting to see if staff can actually make our rooms available. Latest estimate is 6.30pm compared to 3pm check-in, which is NOT five star service. Lunch provided took care of the first hour, now four of us in a small room surrounded by bags waiting...and waiting...let's hope the week improves from here. So far I will give it two stars, the second one for the lunch which was very good...
