Unimpressive hotel. Not worth it.
lauraalexisbankson 08/03/2017 05:26I have been travelling in India for the last 4 months with my wife, and we've had our fair share of unpleasant hotel experiences. Budgets have ranged from 400rps per night to 1500rps per night. I stayed in this hotel for two nights and had a relatively negative experience that I will do my best to explain in full.
When we first arrived at the hotel, the lobby looked very nice, but upon entry to our room we were quite unimpressed with the cleanliness, especially since we were paying 1200rps per night. At our request, they changed our rooms (fortunately no other rooms were in use... Not sure why).
After changing rooms, we settled down only to notice that the hot water wasn't working in our room. We then, once again, moved rooms. The next room had hot water but a non functioning shower head. We were tired of moving rooms so we settled for this one.
The next day, the water in our room wasn't working, so we washed up in a vacant room across the hall.
During our second night, my wife woke up at around 2am to go to the bathroom, only to find the floor to be oddly wet. Upon inspection, she realized that while we were sleeping, our entire room flooded and soaked all of our things. We spent the next hour going through our things and hanging them to dry on the rooftop (it was critical everything was dry asap because we were travelling that evening). Fortunately our most valuable items were not on the ground, but our camera and clothes were. A few clothing items emerged with stains of other clothing items and our camera now makes an odd clicking sound (which we're confident will ultimately lead to it's demise in a few months).
Once the hotel staff noticed our room was filthy from the toilet water, they proceeded to barge in and clean the room while my wife was occupying the room. She asked them to leave, but they continued because they barely spoke English.
Upon approaching the manager about this, he offered us a measly 1000rps discount, to which we did not accept and ultimately said we would not pay for our two nights. We were quite insulted that he thought that a small discount would cure our dissatisfaction with our overall experience.
All in all, I am leaving a rating of 2 stars because despite our problems, the room had a bed and a TV, so they delivered on that. But our overall experience was quite negative. Thus, on top of the fact that it was quite obvious that the blanket had not been washed in a while (like many cheap Indian hotels).
I would strongly recommend checking out one of the many equally priced hotels located on the exact same street as this one.

Just Average
anjan son 24/07/2016 17:16This hotel is just an average accommodation if you want to spend a night. The rooms are just average with very old furniture. The bathroom fittings are also quite old. Nice option if travelling with friends or in a group. Not advisable if travelling with family of elders or kids
Please think again before booking
Niladri con 28/12/2015 09:08Hotel location is good...rooms were not up to mark...blankets were dirty...furnitures old and poorly maintained. ...no particular room service menu..no provision for heater in room....staffs were helpful...be double sure before booking. ....disappointing at least for me personally
