Well situated, in the middle of Bad Bertrich
64thefab4on 24/07/2016 12:13An average-good hotel. Clean but nothing special. We stayed for 2 nights in a standard room. We knew that there was no airco, we were lucky to have beautiful sunny weather, but that also ment that it was too warm in our room. However, we preferred the sunny weather!! Bed was good, bathroom etc was clean. Breakfast was excellent!! Parking can become a problem, because the parking place was often full. The village is cosy and quiet. The hotel is situated about 100 meters of the VulkanThermen and 150 meters of the Tourist Information. Good place to be and have some wonderful walks. high into the hills (8km, known as the parasol-logo) or low in the parks. Enjoy your stay.
Short visit in Bad Bertrich
Michael Con 27/06/2016 22:27We stayed here for two night, the hotel was clean but nothing special. As most visitors of this village would come here for the Vulcano Spa, so did we. All together we had a pleasant stay in Bad Bertrich.
Hotel ok, wellness not so good
leanorskiinfranceon 12/05/2016 22:06Room okay: clean, with a nice balcony, and relaxing sound of the spring in the garden but had a very low bed and thin pillow and I did miss a line telephone. Centraly located, just a few steps from the Therme Spa and the fountain with Spa water. Seating for dinner okay; tables for two (or one) , a few tables for 4 (or more) in the light "Wintergarten" with nice view on the fountain.. Breakfast and dinner basic but not too bad. My arrangement included a few wellness treatments. I would not recommend the in-house beauty/wellness treatments; staff , although friendly, missed the experience/training to reach a professional standard and could hardly speak a word of german or english. The opposite was true of the treatments in the Therme itself : very professional! The sauna and pool are very clean, spacious and relaxing.
Friendly staff in friendly quiet village
Tesla43on 10/02/2016 08:11We booked a special offer (standard room) for this hotel and had no other expectations than a few restful days in January. In fact, I forgot that dinner was inclusive. The hotel is old but has its charming sides. Our room was small and in need of renovation, however, it was very clean. The beds were good, and the stream at the back of the hotel was very peaceful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner was not very exciting but sufficient. The red wine (Dornfelder trocken) however was very good and definitely the highlight of our dinner.
Bad Bertrich may be a lot more lively in other seasons, in January it is very quiet indeed. Lots of elderly walking around with their Nordic Walking sticks, this made us feel really young again! The area is very nice for long walks. The 'Thermal Bad' and sauna's were nice, but not very luxurious. This is after all a typical German 'Kurort' so more focused on health than on luxury. Entrance is rather cheap, especially with a Kur Karte (your host can get you one).
We also visited Cochem, but regret this. In January most of the shops are closed and lots of tourists walked around there wondering what to do.
The worst dinner of our trip
sussiogjacqueson 04/10/2015 13:55We were given our dinner in this hotel, when our own hotel kitchen had "ruhetag".
The food was between bad and uninteresting, like what you get in af cheap cafeteria. Only the wine list gave satisfaction, but not enough to compensate for the food.
There was only a standard menu this evening, so maybe the à la carte would have been better; but we have no way to know this.
