    What People are saying

    Top class original hotel

    Terry O on 20/11/2017 04:39

Wonderfully original hotel in interesting village unusually situated a few hours from Jodhpur. Great food great service and great rooms with very comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms with proper hot showers in this historically beautiful building . A marvellous blend of ancient and modern

    Loved this little oasis

    Julie H on 17/11/2017 14:54

What an amazing resort, we truely wished we had stayed longer.

A very restful place to stay, the Elephant walk & local village tour is a very unique & wonderful cultural experience we would highly recommend.

Everyone made us feel welcome, rooms are well equipped, furnished, clean & the hotel service and food was excellent.

    A reasonable hotel, averagely managed

    SteppieC on 13/11/2017 13:05

Maybe because it’s the only half-decent hotel for miles around, the management feel they don’t need to make an effort.
Good bits - nice room, spacious, clean and comfortable. Great pool area and gardens. Lovely terrace for dinner.
Best bit - trip out to spot leopards with Bhupendra.
Now he’s a man who understands guest service and ought to be put in charge of the hotel.
Bad bits - noisy aircon unit outside bedroom going off regularly throughout day AND night. Very poor breakfast buffet (limited choice and not refilled - even when requested!). Staff friendly enough but not service oriented and poor English means not understanding requests and not able to explain dinner menu (note to self, learn Hindi for next trip!). Reception/office staff not a helpful bunch either. Food very variable and average.

1 night stop over - LOVELY

    PRO's:
    - Beautiful setting in a very rural village
    - Very traditional ambience, love the staff uniform, has so much character
    - Lala Ram (one of the staff) took us on a walking village tour and exceeded our expectations, it's definitely worth going for a walk with them as they get you into local houses and you get to see things that you wouldn't have otherwise
    - Swimming pool and spa area is beautiful.
    - We had a 15min massage included in our booking and this was THE BEST MASSAGE we had in India, LOVED IT!
    - The mountain walk in the morning is a must do, free activity, but be prepared for approx 800 steps.
    - We were provided with an anniversary cake to celebrate our anniversary which was very nice

    CON's:
    - Wi-Fi did not reach our room (room 7) this was a little disappointing, but did force us to switch off a little and sit in the courtyard instead
    - It is a little pricey overall (food / spa) in comparison to the rest of India, but worth the experience
    - We were not told about the hot water switch on checking into our room so had very cold showers which was annoying - so look for that switch!!!
    - I left my yoga mat at this hotel, but I have not been informed by the staff yet :-( I'll have to buy a new one
